Before Alice went to Wonderland, and before Peter became Pan, they were brother and sister. When their eldest brother dies in a tragic accident, they each seek to save their parents from their downward spirals of despair until finally they are forced to choose between home and imagination, setting the stage for their iconic journeys into Wonderland and Neverland.

It's all so tiresome. 😩

I dont really get why you would feel the need to change le race for this story.

Arent they supposed to be BRITISH?

Why cannot they in Hollywood accept that we don't wanna see filthy negroes in our flicks? Jesus, we destroyed the south because they are annoying, sister-banging, boogereating, dumb-dumb freaks. They had it coming. We never liked negroes tho in the north. Someone didn't get the memo.

There are two kinds of raceswapping: "Nick Fury" raceswapping, where the swap kind of fits the character and adds a new angle to him, and "Piss Whitey Off" raceswapping, where you know the producers are rubbing themselves raw over all of the butthurt they think the white audience will feel over it.

More like Aisha in Wakandaland. The tea party will feature grape soda and 40's of OE. The Mad Hatter is now a strung-out crackhead. The cake Aisha eats will be watermelon-flavored. At some point she'll steal the pocketwatch from the rabbit, who is now Jewish, and claim she "dindu nuffin". The Tweedles will remain unchanged so that we can laugh at whitey for being fat and dumb. The caterpillar is now a Jamacian drug dealer.

This should be called The Wiz 2.0

Since when have there ever been black children interested in high fantasy, European fairy tales, tea parties, Little Lord Fauntleroy outfits, and whatever else associated with western European folklore??
I don't think people would say much if there was some history of interest from black children, but there isn't. Objectively. It's obvious the audience is white race traitor wokescolds in a bid to punish the rest of us with extreme prejudice.

There is plenty of African and Caribbean folklore, fairy tales, parables, and books. GO DO THOSE. Goddamn, they could do a "better" version of the folk tales from Song of the South because after all, it IS black history, but no, let's make such deluded attempts at wokescolding that we end up inserting a literal spear chucker trope in the movie without a drop of self awareness.

The days of having Denzel Washington-types is over. From here on out we're getting nothing but hideous apes.

The film will be the mashup of every Disney fan's dreams. Come Away is a prequel to both Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
So this is the first in a line of abominations.

I just want to point out that autistically slapping on coat after coat of lore to hoary old tales is the exact opposite of the childhood that J.M. Barrie was trying to capture in the Peter Pan character. From the original Peter and Wendy, when Wendy reunites with Peter a year after their big adventure:

She had looked forward to thrilling talks with him about old times, but new adventures had crowded the old ones from his mind.
“Who is Captain Hook?” he asked with interest when she spoke of the arch enemy.
“Don't you remember,” she asked, amazed, “how you killed him and saved all our lives?”
“I forget them after I kill them,” he replied carelessly.
When she expressed a doubtful hope that Tinker Bell would be glad to see her he said, “Who is Tinker Bell?”
“O Peter,” she said, shocked; but even when she explained he could not remember.

Not that Disney setting the dead a-spinning in their graves is anything new, but this is particularly galling.

Eh, if its any consolation, it's not a Disney film at least
That's because Disney is doing their own Peter Pan with a pajeet as the lead and a sista as Tinkerbell. Wendy and Captain Hook are still white for obvious reasons.

Tim Burton's Alice movies are too recent for them to make Alisha in Wonderland. Maybe in another five years.

Peter was always such a nasty, sociopathic little shit and for the life of me, I will never understand why the character is so celebrated. The whole Neverland thing is creepy and I'm tired of all these schmaltzy cinematic attempts. Didn't even like the Disney one.

Alice is a lot more fun the more open and ambiguous it is. It's a high road trip story of nonsense and having some kind of emotional backstory just defeats the point.

As for the casting, not surprised. I'm sure they won't learn their lesson after yet another box office bombing.

On a scale of 0 to Epstein, exactly how pedo will this be? Lewis Carroll was most definitely a pedo. and JM Barrie was very likely one as well (he considered age 10 to be the age of perfection in boys -- and he never consummated his marriage and even forged a will to gain custody of some young boys after their parents died.) So merging these 2 stories together seems to be a massive pedo crossover that probably has pedos fangirling in anticipation.
