My sister Does the same thing we use to have a lot of people who tried “converting” us in the city. They are always fun to read. I think we got started because of the Jontron d&d episode.
i imagine you dont want to say which city, but are there specific type of places that you find them a lot? I think i found my first in a basement arcade of a beach chalet in the midwest. I found another on the floor in a high end mall in chicago while on a field trip. My last one was next to a lighthouse in northern California at a popular surf spot. I actually threw my board down and bolted as soon as i saw that familiar red and black rectangle. My friends thought i was retarded when i came back holding it up in triumph like a golden ticket. It was one that I already had in my collection, but very satisfying to snag nonetheless.

I used to own thousands of dollars of rare Japan only PSX and DVD’s. My family are so irritating with the screaming at me that instead of selling them for a profit (some, the only picture online at all was of my copy), I put them in a garbage bag and threw them away so I could just leave with my clothes and computer. RIP money.
Sorry to hear that bud, had the same situation where my dad threw away like 90% of my shit including a chair that I really liked (I'm in the furniture business). the chair was so hard to find I don't even have a photo reference. parents suck lol. did you play them often and do you have "completely legal" Internet downloads of said games?

Are you able to build your own furniture? He can kill the chair but not the idea if that’s the case.

And nah the games were mostly rare horror visual novels and survival horror games. The rarest one I owned was this

That’s one thing I don’t get, how can you be mean to someone you created? Idk. I try not to think about it.

Historical beer steins. My family is from Germany and my grandpa had his own collection going before he passed. Nobody else in my family wanted them so I decided to keep his collection going and they are actually a pretty fun item to look for at different flea markets/antique stores. Just for display though since I only go for really old ones and the ones my grandpa had were used to store his cigarettes haha

Any cool ones you found there?
Yes! They are usually way too pricey for me and I'm not too great at sussing out reproductions yet but I love finding the regimental steins. Recruits would purchase them as souvenirs in Germany of their time serving so you can find out a lot about the original owner due to it being personalized. The finial has a different symbol depending on the unit the solider was in, the thumblift depended on the German state, and the motif usually has their name and years served. I love history so I get a big kick out it

One of my biggest regrets was giving away my childhood toys to my little cousins. I took good care of my stuff and had loads of Lego, those old metal Kinder Surprise figurines, a huge number of Hot Wheels toy cars etc. etc. I pissed all that away. The kids in question never lacked anything mind you, I was the poor one and just wanted to be nice. To my surprise years later I discovered that many of my complete Lego sets would've fetched a pretty penny and the same goes for the Kinder Surprise figurines. I had A LOT of those. Above all a part of me regrets it out of pure nostalgia.

Currently I'm contemplating going into burning my collection of anime and pics onto DVDs. Contrary to zoomer beliefs, the things never failed me. I have a lot of DVDs I burned back in circa 2004 - 06 that work perfectly fine. I in fact cannot remember a single time a DVD ended up unreadable and chalk up such stories to the seeming american inability to take care of stuff. My basic notion here would be to create an offline backup that can't be easily tempered with.

I collect postcards. My two main areas are two towns that are dear to me, and I have some more that I'm not that uhh eager to hunt down - cosmonauts, ww1 generals. The advantage is that to store I can just put the binder on the bookshelf and it takes very little space.

Another thing I collect is harvest coins/tokens from my town (Before the 1950s guest workers would get one for every X amount of what they harvested and later would trade them in for money. It's usually a metal coin with the name of the field owner and his house number and various decorations. There's not many of these in the area I'm interested in so the whole collection could be hidden in a matchbox.

I collect old non-fiction books, mostly manuals about gardening, recipes, homesteading stuff etc. I also have a pretty big collection of fishing lures, which is ridiculous because I usually just use worms when fishing, but I used to love looking through my dad's tackle box when I was a kid and they remind me of him.
Oh and pocket/hunting knives. Nothing fancy just whatever I see that I like.
