I do not identify with any particular denomination but I think most scholars both Christian and not, mostly agree that Jesus was most certainly a historical person with the Son of God thing being debated amongst them, in terms of my actual beliefs I guess you could consider me to be a Cultural Christian but I think that's kind of stretch while I do find the vast majority of ideas on Christian morality to be immensely appealing, the idea of a Eternal Reward with no struggle is not an idea I really find appealing, I think its human nature not to desire struggle, but to want to overcome struggle when it occurs, while the idea of Heaven is certainly more appealing then Spitroasting in Fire for eternity I feel if I did embrace any particular denomination and I went with the correct one and there is a God that views me as worthy of Heaven id get bored after awhile, not to sound particularly offensive but I couldn't find a better way to word it

I'll give you an actual answer instead of the pithy chest-beating faggotry the others are They're an ecumenical church for people that don't fit in at a real church (not True Believers), still believe in the cultural/psychological value of a church and also value religious pluralism. Usually they come from various cultural religious backgrounds and vary from deist to atheist (because if they were True Believers, they'd be in their own denomination). They rotate through, as I recall, visiting speakers from different denominations. Of course, 99% of the congregation at any UU will be Yankees, Jews, and spiritual Yankee-Jews.

It is the "Coexist" bumper sticker turned into a church service. Unfortunately, they are also turbo-progressives (not just in terms of who they attract, but it's a core part of the identity).

If you are familiar with Bahai, it's not the same (Bahai has an a prophet, dogmas, scriptures, etc.) but it is in a similar spirit.

That’s informative, I suppose my concern with going to Heaven was that your just kinda there sitting for eternity not really doing anything,and the Bible isn't exactly clear on the exact nature of what happens, I do find the Christian interpretation of morality immensely appealing for life on the Earth, I guess this is another example of having to trust that God knows exactly what we need even in an afterlife

as someone who lives in the region this is definitely true, I see many woke churches wielding Pride Flags in the area, these aren't Christian in any sort of way and if I did join a church it would certainly not be them, im certain in other parts of the country its far less common depending on where you go, Preaching about the Bible is Christian, blabbing about how being nice solves all Modern Socio-Political issues in the country has not, Christians are tolerant just not the woke interpretation of it where you have to put up with Muslims killing your fellow Christians or Gays being naked in public, pretty much any actual Christian ive talked to is a far nicer person than any "progressive" person, Leftists always seem to be hiding more sinister things about them in Public
