I can absolutely believe that Chloe's behaviour has been so extreme that she got placed in an isolation room within a mental health unit.

No acute care facility can ever fix Chloe's mental health issues - that's not their role - and Chloe isn't interested in engaging in the kind of long term treatment which might make them somewhat more functional.

Chloe's just going to end up more and more isolated by their own behaviour until they're either chronically homeless or permanently institutionalised.

Maybe. In my experience people like Chloe burn bridges with their families long before they burn them with their friends. They survive as long as they have a constant supply of new people to feel sorry for them, but even if they ultimately do get their shit together it often takes a very long time before anyone they've burned in the past will even consider letting them back in their lives at close range.

When we first discovered Chloe, she had all her money funneled into Rani's bank account. She claimed it was because Rani was helping her budget things, but the truth is she was hiding her money after the Gofundme Charity Scam incident. Either her bank account was being garnished or they were looking into her financial details due to the $30k-or-so she fraudulently raised, but Rani decided it would be a great idea to help Chloe hide her money to try and keep her from having to pay it back.

I have to assume that situation with Lexi was incredibly similar. Even if everything Chloe said was true I don't feel bad, at all, for someone who ran a charity scam to themselves have their hipster welfare stolen from them. Sucks to be you, pay back your debts and stop being a societal drain.
