The current battle is going to be won by whichever side uses state power first in order to crush their opposition. IF (and I do say IF) the Trump administration does anything to crack down on the left in this country, we only stand to benefit from any damage he can cause. If Trump doesn't do anything significant to break up the institutional power of the left, once the left gets into power they're going to go whole ham on us and we won't have many options. One thing to consider in regards to how long it takes for the Republicans to get anything done is that so much of our system of government has been reorganized or even fabricated to benefit the Swamp, and the Democrats in particular. It has been geared to quickly facilitate their goals and policies while also serving as roadblocks for politicians like Trump and the MAGA Republicans who actually want to improve things and put laws in place that actually benefit regular Americans. The good news is that the Republicans have been tearing down that apparatus, but it has been slow going simply because of how well the Swamp creatures did at erecting it. And while the Dems still do have some power and influence which makes things difficult for the Republicans to get work done, they thankfully are losing that control bit by bit. Hopefully the midterms will yield yet more wins for MAGA Republicans and losses for Democrat Swamp Creatures so we can get more done in a faster amount of time, but it's going to take years to undo the damage that the Swamp has inflicted on our government. I believe it will get done and the Dems will lose so many seats that they will become a minority party with very little power or influence as more people realize that they are bad for the country.

All good things take time and effort, and we really should be grateful for all the wins we have had so far. And it hasn't even been a year yet. Don't give into the blackpills and dooming. Keep your eye on the prize and keep fighting.

The battle over state power is lost, and it has been for a long time. I can't pinpoint exactly when, though. Trump is entirely owned by the same people who own the left. If you are an actually disruptive candidate, and they can't imprison you like in Brazil, Romania, etc, they just kill you plain and simple. Just ask the AFD. If Trump were actually disruptive, they'd have killed him. Professionally I mean. Not some microplastic soy elemental taking it into his own hands. You're completely fooling yourself if you think Trump even has the slightest desire to fix things. To keep the thread on topic, he reacted with more hostility when that person in an IDF t-shirt got pushed on some campus somewhere than he did to Kirk getting necked.

I'm not advocating chimping out. That would have been the only alternative a few years ago. But I think now with BRICS serving L after L on the geopolitical stage to the US and allies and being all but guaranteed to win the long game economically, I think we could see the US cease being an international economic zone, and go back to being an actual country. Granted, that will follow unprecedented economic catastrophy for Americans. But before that? It's most powerful allies were the Hollywood class. By the 90s the left wing control of Hollywood was basically unchallenged but this kind of shit extended as far back as memory can serve.

Yeah, obviously everything turbo charged in 2015 but if you look back at older tv shows an interesting pattern starts to emerge. In the mid-late 90s an awful lot of normie television had episodes or short arcs where a transwoman would pop-up, usually played by an attractive woman. Shows like Ally McBeal, Married With Children, Just Shoot Me, etc. Almost always the story would go that one or a number of the male characters was deeply attracted to the transwoman, and had no idea she wasn't actually a woman. Then they'd discover the truth and be shocked, grossed out but kind of still attracted. At the same time you had serious shows and movies do thoughtful dramas about parents with a trans child, popularising "I'd rather have a live daughter than a dead son," or a young person transitioning, like Boys Don't Cry, showing how defenceless and vulnerable poor trans people are.

As time went on these characters became taken more seriously, so in the 2000s you had Rebecca Romjin's transwoman as a main character for years of Ugly Betty. And once the public were used to the idea of transwoman, you started seeing transwomen being portrayed by actual trans identifying (gay) men, like Laverne Cox and Jamie Clayton, in Orange is the New Black and Sense8. Both being portrayed as very vulnerable due to their transness.

I watch a lot of older shows and movies these days and I just keep noticing it pop up. I feel like we were being primed for decades, in gradually more outrageous stages.

Also the foundations of Christianism mandate a divided culture. Meaning so long as society is founded on Christianist principles, which Liberal Democracy is a direct secularization of Protestantism (a sect of Christianism), meaning Liberal Democracy is itself a sect of Christianism, there were will always be "a left" and "a right".

Unfortunately it's also the one that can best protect civil liberties, at least if said liberties exist within a constitution whose protection of which relies on someone/something outside the primary legislature.

In most Democracies you can see civil liberties are gradually eroded when ultimate authority rests in the legislature (house of representatives/house of commons/lower house, etcetera), meaning any protections afforded by something like a constitution are effectively worthless as they can be overridden by whoever assumes a majority in that body. The 2nd amendment could've been reworded or outright removed by now if all it took to get rid of it was a simple majority in the house and senate, but since the president also has to consent at the end to signing it, there's effectively 3 layers of protection.

Democracy works best when power isn't centralised in a single body (creating a Frankenstein king) but it's also the most frustrating when power isn't since it slows things down massively.

One of the motives behind, say, France in 1848 to do such a thing was the belief it'd avoid emotions factoring into the creation of laws (lmao) but it also consequently enabled for itself to be overthrown since it allowed for the government to take away universal suffrage with a measly vote.

You can see in my original post about how the left/right do thing differently. Despite wanting to empower the position of president and stay in office, effectively become a king in all but name, he was still doing so under the purview of the law. It was only once the government violated the constitution (removing universal suffrage in July 1851) did he gain the popular support to act.

TLDR: The vice of democracy (mostly America, other nations have shit democracies such as Germany) is also what best protects the people, assuming there's anything to protect. Having complex, stifling democracy + no civil liberties = living hell. Also civil liberties + supreme authority in single body = tantamount to no civil liberties.

Look at most revolutions. The party typically gets rid of these middle level individuals that level the criticism at those who intend to take over as the new elite because they’re the bigger threat. It’s much easier to control one large, dumb group that subsists on Frito Lay products than it is two groups, one large and dumb and the other smart enough to point out why that is.

Liberal Democracy is often touted as being highly adaptable and dynamic, but in reality it is fundamentally slow-moving and non-responsive. The only way it appeared functional is back when it had a massive economic surplus from technological innovation (industry, tech) to paper over all its inefficiencies and failings.

Just because they aren't mobilizing every branch of the military and going on the news to tell Republican voters that it's hunting season on anyone registered as a Democrat does NOT fucking mean they aren't taking the situation seriously. President Trump declared Antifa a domestic terrorist organization and has unleashed the full weight of the federal law enforcement machine to track down and bring to justice anyone contributing to radical Left terrorism, including the people financially backing it.
