The assassination is very relevant to him since he was the victim of an attempted assassination when his home was firebombed. I suspect many leftists are also pushing the "Israel killed Kirk" line because they know it's the ultimate distraction for the Right and misdirects their anger onto a target they themselves also hate. The level of conspiratorial thinking on the Right is a huge issue because bad actors can always come in and rile up that crowd to stoke division on the Right to obfuscate a real issue such as anti-white rhetoric on the left.
