Where's that meme comic of the jew pretending to be mexican? Because this man's about as Hispanic as Gabe Hoffman.
He doesn’t even like Mexican art, he just uses it to prop himself up because his only value to the industry is being Mexican. No joke, the man is predictably a mega weeb and wears Godzilla shirts to most social gatherings. He talks more about anime than he ever does about Mexican culture. But he knows he can never make a fake anime of his own

Oh God, he's literally this meme, isn't he.

Besides the silly race swapping of a 96 year old black and white cartoon character, how are producers going to make a 60+ minute long film of a dormant cartoon character compelling? Hollywood seems to have learned nothing from Felix the Cat and his failed movie adaptation, who was designed solely for short silent cartoon movies. Like Felix the cat, Betty Boop only works in short length 1930s cartoons. She has no established lore, universe, nor any backstory that could work for a feature long film. Plus, there hasn't been much Betty Boop media over the past 40 years. In contrast, Mickey Mouse and Looney Tunes films work because Disney and WB have established a beloved extended cast and world building that's been expanded upon over the past 90 years in comics, TV shows, and movies. The Betty Boop film is going to be difficult to produce because neither Betty Boop nor Felix the Cat are as recognisable as Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny to modern audiences today due to their decades long absence in the animation industry.

This is actually Mexican as fuck but yeah the rest of him is super gringo.
someone correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Gutierrez do Book of Life, Maya and the Three, El Guapo Vs the Narco Vampires, and El Tigre? His work seems Mexican as fuck, what am I missing here? I thought the meme was his stuff on the right and Victor and Valentino on the left.

Same with Guillermo Del Toro, tf? Are Mexicans not Mexican enough unless they only wear shirts with like, Las Leyendas on it or something? Why are we gatekeeping being Mexican? Like if he's an egotist asshole then okay, he's an asshole, but that's not like it makes him white.

The point I was making is that he treats himself like the authority on what is and is not Mexican art and is one of the only mexicans Hollywood routinely goes to, but he shows no appreciation for anything actually from Mexico. I’m not saying all Mexican stuff needs to be Victor and Valentino, levels of stereotype, but exclusively focusing on Japanese art and then claiming to be the main Mexican in animation is a bit much

Guy is the real fucking deal too. I guess this is what happens when companies trip over each other to greenlight beanmouth garbage but won't give a fine artist the time of day.

I'm going to be honest. I love playing with AI but I've seen it misused so much that I'm very skeptical about its effect on the quality of media.
If someone like this is singing its praises - I'm very interested...
This dude's an outlier in that he's a professional using a new tool in the exact way it is designed to be used in the context of his profession.
Should have used Brian.
that's not like it makes him white.
I thought mexican was white.

So he's the Peter Dinklage of Mexicans, that's fine. You need branding to get ahead in Hollywood, mang.
