EVs, not even once.

Anyway, what is the obsession with branding a fucking truck with the model name in huge letters across the back?
IMG_6563.jpeg

It’s not just Ford, I’ve seen this on Chevy and Nissan. It’s like vehicle autism, “Hi, this is a MAVERICK.” What? Why? I don’t care.

It's a marketing thing that's in now. There's no Ford Logo on the E mustang, or the Dodge RAM. I joke because who wants to admit owning one of them? No it's just a Ram truck... I'm not so stupid I bought a Dodge!.

And now for something completely different......

You normally see Civics, Skylines and Supras and other Japanese cars with anime wraps on them - called Itasha cars (Japanese for "painful car" apparently). Here's an Itasha Pinto! Someone with an interest in classic cars and anime I guess

Ver archivo adjunto 9080668

Its called the Minto Pinto and even has its own Instagram account

We do lolcows here at the farms, here's the first lolcar!

Such a waste of molestation on a clean looking pinto. I hate the wrap, hopefully someone rams into it.

I'm just waiting for Itashas to be put on Chinese EVs, so it'll be a win-win when they inevitably burst into flames.

What's the best kind of gas to put into a sedan? I usually put in 87 octane because it's cheaper. Does it make a difference for a typical sedan?

The car's owner's manual (and sometimes inside the fuel door) will state what kind of gas is required. The typical rule is that turbocharged engines require Premium Fuel because they are tuned around using it. Whereas with smaller naturally aspirated engines, it's perfectly okay to use 87 octane fuel.

There is now a tool to enable Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for GM's newer cars that don't have it. But what are the chances that GM patches out this method via an OTA update? (since GM also stated that you have to do them, or else any damages to your car because of failing to do OTA updates will not be covered under warranty) Or worse, if they make a way to brick cars that use this tool, like how Riot's Vanguard anti-cheat does to computers that have cheating hardware installed?

Now a days, with direct injection even many forced induction cars don't mind the cheap stuff.

When you say typical sedan, sure 87 will be fine for a stock setup. If you don't know what car you have, then it's pretty safe to say you're not mistakenly in a ferrari or model T that needs added lead. I assume you're asking for shopping around, most everything takes/wants 87.

While I don't suggest doing it for poor MPG, power etc, cars now have a much better knock sensor system and can pull timing if you get bad gas. But like I said it's not something you want to do, it just will keep your motor from pooping the bed. I learned the hard way lending my car out, you spend MORE on "cheap gas", than the proper gas. So Tl;dr buy what your car needs.

Another nice day for the Elise. God damn, I will NOT get tired of this car, I just won't.

So I was driving the other day when I saw a car that was so astonishingly ugly that I just had to do a double take. It looked like someone designed it entirely with the straight line tool in AutoCAD. The rear hatch looked like it was made of unfinished plastic. The front looked like it was styled after a Nissan Rogue after its first hit-and-run, but on purpose. Normally I'm really good at differentiating cars, but this abomination stumped me.

When I got home, I looked it up and it was the new Subaru Outback. Good Lord almighty. I know Subarus have never been good-looking cars, but they must be trolling their customers at this point.

Saw my realistically attainable dream boat in a museum - 52 Studebaker Commander coupe. One day, sooner than later, I shall shed 2 extra doors for one of these.

Went to complete hell after 90s Impreza and just never came back without help from Toyota, that they shortly after ruined as well - gen2 BRZ looks like an Accord had drunk sex with F Type that resulted in the most boring smooth egg on wheels to almost rival Tesla.

And I'd say it begs to differ since their lesbian owners ought to have beauty standards, but then you remember they're into stumpy butch types and then everything falls into place....

While it's fugly AF, IIRC this new gen actually lost like 1/3 buyers and according to subies research looks were a major part.

My dad has a WRX, hard to explain how my father isn't a tranny but it's a subie so he's a lesbian.

Owning a modern Subaru or anything from Korea is like drinking a burger after running it through a blender twice instead of an actual, proper burger.

His is an 09, probably one of the better looking, I'm partial to the 22b era look but I'm old.

I am more of a four door fan myself, but that is a stunningly beautiful car. You have good taste
In the perfect car triangle of "pick 2" - it's either a large trunk or rear row of seats, otherwise it becomes an unparkable shlong given modern parking woes of almost literally everywhere within civilized zip codes, and thus I'd pick trunk space over useless 2nd seat that never gets used anyway.

Some guy in Vancouver bought a screen used mystery machine stunt vehicle from Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed off of facebook marketplace. It was originally Stunt Van #3 out of 7, was a 1984/85 Chevrolet/GMC G-Series Van with a 1971/1977 front end swap with a modified grille (to look like a Holden Bedford CF Van) however this stunt van had sat in a outside before the previous owner. It didn't run, some of the body kit pieces are broken, the chromed 5 slot mag wheels are gone and replaced with wheels from a gmc safari.
Possibly one of these vans from this old image

Did the brakes on my J00p, the seals on the piston were all fucked up but replacements were surprisingly simple to find and install.

I will probably convert the front brakes into disk brakes and keep the rear as drums but before I want to lift it by placing the leaf springs over the axles, that's gonna look HELLA cool.

You'll never regret front discs. Or rear tbh, (a few niches of very light cars drums are fine and lighter).

Love the Ghillie suit on the jeep. What engine is in it ? I had a old Cherokee with the 4L damn that thing was a torque beast, but no matter what highway stop go etc 15 mpg. Thirsty girl.

Took the firebird out today, I hate to say it, I'm getting too old for fucking climbing into a cage it's all over the fucking place so rowdy. Sure it's cool and scares everyone including me. But wife and I went plant shopping in the sexus, nice time. Tomorrow a Bday party, and gonna flex on the normies with the Elise. I hate to rub it in but god damn, this car is a fucking joy. Every time I turn it on, I still have that "new car" feel, sure it's got some wear but I mean that "hell yeah it's my new toy" feel.

Those are nice, I have a VX myself. Is it the V6 or the V8? Got an LS1 in mine
Oh, nice! LFX V6 in mine. It’s a later generation of the Alloytec, and largely fixes the timing chain issues they once had, just as long as you maintain it. This car has been serviced on time, every time, and despite nearly 350,000km, it still just fucks off when you give it a boot, especially on E85, which these engines support. It’s as quiet as a mouse, too. Still on 5W-30. The loudest thing on the engine is the air con compressor.

It’s around 6 seconds 0-100, which isn’t too shabby in my opinion. Apparently they’ll produce around 225kW on E85.

Mines not as quiet as all that, usually run a 15W-40 or similar as its over 400,000 kms, and I had some rocker cover gasket leaks, but I have just changed those and changed the oil for 10W-50 as me and the boyfriend are going down country to somewhere it gets too cold to get away with a higher viscosity and it was due anyway. Still goes well though, I do my own servicing

Dont know exactly what it is putting out but its quick, I think it has been modded/ chipped by the previous owner
