@Scratch This Nut you know what? You seem like a reasonable enough person. I don't even mind disagreeing with you. Even though we do disagree, you seem decent enough. I wish more people I disagreed with were decent. But eh maybe that's my fault >_<
It happens, don't take it personally. I've met some people here that I vehemently disagree with in regards to media but they're still good people and I even learned a thing or two from them.

I really do enjoy Monica over her.
Monica has been proven to be a better actress on WandaVision
It seems that she doesn't want to be compared to men and/or she sees men's compliments as an attack or insult. There was another incident where Chris Hemsworth said jokingly that she was going to become the next Tom Cruise because she did the stunts on her own and she said: "I'm going to be the next me."

She is taking (white?) men's compliments the wrong way and that's why she reacts like that. From her point of view it was probably just another privileged dick monster mocking her.
I do wonder if she was legit raised to be like this. She has acting since a kid I believe.
It's incredible how unlikable she came across during the Avengers: Endgame press tour.

Most of the actors playing dress up as these heroes are stuck-up dickweeds IRL, too ... But Brie Larson is just the one who is unable to conceal it. I mean ... I guess I should give props to her for being less dishonest in that sense, haha.
Exactly Chris Evans is a peice of shit on Twitter. But at least when he's playing Captain America, I forget that and enjoy his performance. Yet she constantly acting like a smug bitch even on screen.
There are a few compilations of how clearly uncomfortable her co-stars are with being around her during interviews for Endgame. She is so unlikable that even the other dicks couldn't stand to be around her.
That's honestly a accomplishment.

What she does IRL means absolutely nothing to me. That shouldn’t have an impact on my feelings toward the movie.
There is a point where I'd agree with this, but her shitty behavior definetly spoils the movie and even seeps into it. I can separate people like Roger Waters, the idiot, from his work in Pink Floyd, and even his more political music. What you can't separate however, is an obnoxious cunt acting like herself in a movie. And part of what pushes a movie are interviews and trailers too, so if they're shit, that can factor into your movie-going experience, and that is perfectly valid. If it was, by comparison, a movie about Ted Nugent and he suddenly started going into political rants about how superior he is or gun control while he's giving an interview, I could also see why people wouldn't like it.

Besides, that guy wasn't even replying to you. Why do you spring up so quickly to defend her, as if it was a personal attack aimed at you?

I don’t keep up with celeb drama. And I didn’t even like Captain Marvel that much.

You can't call it celeb drama when it was an interview about the movie right around the time it came out, it's not like an spontaneous interview on a bus or some gossip type of shit. Weren't you defending her acting a few pages ago?

Nah. I just said she did okay with what she had and that the directors were more at fault. Doesn’t mean I actually LIKED the movie.

Christ why are you so upset by this?

I mean WV kinda hints that monica kinda resents Carol for not saving her mom which could be an interesting plot point... of course theres also a likely possibility that either Monica will be unreasonably cunty, captain marvel will be portrayed as unquestionably right, or both

Hard necro for this bit of exceptionalism.

At least we have a saga full of movies that were mostly good, though. Some of them were great, even. After almost 14 years, I can still watch that first Iron Man movie and be thoroughly entertained and invested in the characters. The MCU can spend time using their new characters to shit on the likes of Tony Stark all they want; they'll never be as entertaining, as cool, or as human as Tony Stark.

The MCU will never see the likes of an Iron Man 1 or a Winter Soldier again. I'm just thankful we got those movies in the first place.

Just look at this scene from the first Iron Man. To me, this is still the coolest fucking moment in the entirety of the MCU. How the mighty have fallen, indeed:

one robot's life, albeit a sentient one
But that's the point? Vision wasn't just a robot, he was sentient which is why sacrificing him was such a conflict. It'd be no different with one of the human Avengers in his place.

Is she trying to be controversial on purpose or does she just not feel empathy?

It takes some pretty fucked logic to say it's all Captain America's fault when Infinity War and Endgame were practically screaming from the rooftops that Thor was the one who fucked up by not splattering Thanos' brain matter all over the place when he had the chance.

Besides, even if they had destroyed Vision, in that scenario Thanos would still have had 4 or 5 Infinity Stones, depending on whether or not Dr. Strange gave up the Time Stone. His end goal was to wipe out half the population of the universe, with the snap just being a quick and easy way of doing it; having a partial set of the stones would mean he'd just have to carry on wiping out populaces the old-fashioned way, and more importantly, would be something that couldn't be quickly undone with a reverse-snap.

He just doesn't seem well versed on ethics, because he's operating on a mindset of "the ends justifies the means." The snap killed half the population, therefore any deed to prevent it, no matter how reprehensible, is justified. Of course, taking his train of thought to its logical conclusions creates absurdities such as, "What if Hitler was a time traveler who had to kill the jews to prevent Bill Gates from creating Covid."

It's even more fucked than that. They did have a contingency plan for the Stone, and they executed it perfectly, it just turned out not to matter because Thanos had the time Stone and could reload Vision from the cache. What's the argument here, that he wouldn't have been able to rewind time a couple more hours?
