She was really good in Scott Pilgrim, she had good comedic timing in 21 Jump Street, she was perfectly serviceable in Kong: Skull Island, and ... She did, in my opinion, completely deliver an Oscar-worthy performance in Room.

What happened to her was the Oscar. Went right to her head almost immediately.

She was by far the worst aspect of that movie, which I otherwise really liked.

Modern western media just does not know how to do good female characters anymore.

They are inducing Monica Rambeau's actress in Wandavision, and while I don't think her performance has been anything stand out, I still think they are going to have a hard time having her not outshine flat Brie Larson

They are both much more personable, but they've also had more screentime as themselves, given a few more episodes I could see Monica as a better established character than Captain Marvel going into the second movie.

And despite what they may say, social justice is about empowering white women, and Monica Rambeau being more liked than Brie Larson will be a problem.

Brie has to share time with Kamala AND Monica in the sequel. I hope she gets over herself by the time the press junket for 2 rolls around otherwise she is indeed gonna get outshone by the other two
 
Monica Rambeau is infinitely more interesting and likable than Carol Danvers. Like, is this even a question? lol.

The actress who plays Rambeau has been good, in my opinion. So far, my favorite moments with her have been her interactions with Wanda. She has really good chemistry with Elizabeth Olsen, which gives me the impression that she'd fit right in with the Avengers. She immediately came across with more charm and charisma than Brie Larson did in an entire feature-length movie that she starred in.

I'm not interested in Captain Marvel 2 ... But I'm far less disinterested in it knowing that Rambeau is going to be in it. Would be awesome if a certain iconic Southern Belle put Carol in a coma, and Monica ends up having the "Captain Marvel" moniker passed onto her ... Just throwing that out there. :)

Monica will be either Photon or Spectrum IIRC. I want to say Photon since it was her mum' callsign.

Also google Avengers 200 if you need something to haunt you for at least the next half hour.

I dislike this cunt but I agree to some extent. She is still really shit at her role and I think that when a movie is so tainted by her actions, it deserves the criticism it gets. On the other hand, the whole story and dialogue was idiotic, not to mention the standard take on all men being dumb bigots/mysogynists/useless, unlike the strong powerful wise dipshit who in the end learns nothing and doesn't have any actual challenge in the movie. And that wouldn't be an issue if it was a straight dumb action flick, but it's clearly not, and there's never any tension in it. And that is definetly not her own fault.

Teyonah Parris is a great actress, plus she's Juilliard trained lol. She was on Mad Men in a recurring role.

That entire scene where she visits Wanda in the 70s sitcom is a masterclass on both her and Lizzie's acting ability. Their facial expressions and how they adapted to it was amazing.
"Wait....didn't your brother die? Wasn't he killed by Ultron?"
".............*smile cracks* What did you say?....."

Brie wishes she could do that. ScarJo did it even better in Endgame and Winter Soldier. (The briefing scene in Endgame where she's emotionally drained and depressed as well as her death scene......god)

I get they decided Carol was supposed to be literally **alien** to how humans worked...but still.
