I'm genuinely excited and hope there will be a Olympics in Canada. I want to see how much of a "woke" shitshow our opening ceremony is, similar to the Paris olympics in 2024 (at least with that one you could argue its meant to be greek gods and stuff).

2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics felt so nationalistic and great. I was also a young kid/preteen. Was really great with the Olympic torch going to every small town across Canada.

They have instead bussed all the dregs of society and homeless people from the cities to the suburbs to hide the fact that the cities are shitholes and the country is rapidly devolving quagmire. At least the Olympics provided some benefit with highway upgrades, some housing and new facilities being built, this is just throwing some asphalt into potholes and essentially slapping together some scaffolding around a stadium for more seating and growing some grass inside.
