One 45 caliber automatic, two boxes of ammunition, four days concentrated emergency rations, one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills, one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible, one hundred dollars in rubles, one hundred dollars in gold, nine packs of chewing gum, one issue of prophylactics, three lipsticks, and three pairs of nylon stockings.
 
Live on moutain in a rural area so my bug out bag is to open the door and look outside.

Here is a tip from your uncle Bob who also happens to be a long distance hiker.

Moleskin...it will save you if you are in a situtation where you really need to keep moving.

Put it in your bug out bag and check your feet for irritation often which leads to:

A couple pair of quality wool socks and a good pair of hiking boots. You need to acutally go get fit for hiking boots/shoes because they are often a size larger than what you normally wear.

You should also buy some quality hiking shirts/pants as you don't want to just throw cotton on and get rained on which will just drag you down.

I would also add a bag of mixed candy and a bottle of aspirin, because chances are you haven't been out hiking everyday and you will need to combat the soreness of muscle use during the first couple hundred hours along with the sugar energy to keep you going.
 
- 1.75 of purified water in a KRU-82 aluminum vodka bottle
- Two stripped MREs: no FRHs but packets of Vietnamese coffee and Emergen-C electrolyte powder
- Packet of lifeboat rations
- Flashlight stored with backwards batteries
- Czech Army mess kit to boil water
- Woodland poncho and woobie liner
- Mora knife
- Blowout kit inc. a NPAA and an asherman seal.
- Booboo kit in an Altoids tin
- Deck of playing cards
- Two skivvy rolls
- Half a roll of duct tape rolled back against itself

Include a gun and you can get pretty much anything else you need.

-A fully loaded revolver

Because if the shit really hits the fan to the point of having to "bug out", then all I need is a last drink and a bullet to the head. I don't do very well in crisis scenarios.

I don't condone suicide, but if given the choice between shooting myself and dying from radiation poisoning, volcanic ash, or some other catastrophic event that could collapse society, I'll gladly take the bullet instead.

But in all seriousness, I'm more of a "bug in" kind of guy. I've got lots of bottled water, canned food, and I'm working on acquiring basic medical supplies. For defense, I currently have a baseball bat and a large hunting knife, as a gun isn't in my current budget right now.

Besides, in a prepping scenario, basic needs like food and especially water are much more important than weaponry, though defense items are also very important as well.

I know I got no chance in a survival situation, so: a joint, a bottle of whiskey, and a full revolver. Technically I'd only need one bullet, but why not make it useful to whoever finds it.
 
If I did have to bug out, then I'm not going full-on innawoods, at least not long term. If it gets that bad, then it's time to break out the Jameson and the revolver.

However, I do have an exit strategy for less severe bug out scenarios, and that is to go to my Dad's house. He lives in a rural area out in the middle of nowhere complete with a small working farm (my grandmother lives on the same property and she raises chickens and grows her own vegetables) but the issue is that it's a four-hour drive to his house and most of it is on open interstate highway, which would most likely be severely crowded in an emergency scenario.

So my main prepping strategy is to bug in for as long as possible. I've actually been considering actual prepping for emergencies such as severe weather or small-scale civil unrest. So, as a consequence I've been stocking up on bottled water and canned food and plan to stock up on extra toiletries and medical supplies.

I do plan on buying a rifle or shotgun eventually, but for now I'm satisfied with my baseball bat. Food and water are much more crucial to survival than guns and ammunition.
 
I have enough hunting, camping and fishing gear to get by. Plus plenty of guns , ammo and probably in the near future some night vision in a scope or a monocular. I feel sorry for city folk your kind of fucked.
