UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Fuck off does it, it causes outrage because these crimes would never have happened had the filth been kept in their home countries where they should be. It's like when a guest in your house rapes your kid, murders your wife and burns your house down, of course you're going to be screaming mad when your hospitality is abused by people that fucking hate you and want you and your kin dead. We have enough of our own problems without inviting millions more.
I love how they completely overlooked crimes per capita. Sure they're 13% or whatever of the population, but what percentage of them as a population commit crimes? Even the home office has had to release the stats and most people here have seen them.

big *if* but I agree, if things go off we are fucked
Last night exposed how badly policing has been cut across the whole of the UK in just ten years. It should genuinely be a wake up call to at least throw a lifeline to anti-immigration protestors because it's abundantly clear that even four districts worth of police can't cope with an organised, pissed off bunch of rioters.

Last night saw people straight up going into migrant houses and setting them alight and the police couldn't do anything but watch because they knew it'd very likely result in serious harm. Last night saw the line completely fail in seconds, allowing rioters to torch the police cars with zero effort.

To really hammer home how much the police were outnumbered, remember the videos of the water cannons being transported up? Did you see any water cannons last night? No. The police were too fucking scared to use water cannons.

And this was a snap protest arranged in less than 24 hours on a Tuesday night.

This isn't even as bad as it could have gotten, I'm genuinely astounded MPs are just repeating the same talking points they've been saying for 10 years when there should be emergency meetings all over the place.

And this isn't even a solution that can be fixed quickly by hiring more police officers, there isn't a fucking process for starting a hiring campaign and having them on the streets in 3 months, let alone a week. It's just astounding to see politicians and the public living in two completely separate versions of the UK.

Oh, well, so long as he's socially acceptable, I guess it's ok if he keeps the rapists and invaders around. Hey, maybe if you go up to these brown invaders and tell them "OI! THAT'S NOT SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE! YOU STOP THAT NOW!" they'll suddenly realize the error of their ways.

Socially unacceptable problems require socially unacceptable solutions. The British need to stop asking for permission to save themselves.
All I am doing is making a statement of the political reality. It isn't an endorsement of it.

What you and many others don't appreciate is that if you didn't live in particular areas where you would be exposed to this stuff, you wouldn't even know it was happening.

I live near a major city in the UK (less than 30 miles), and as far as I am concerned, it may as well not exist. I don't work there, shop there or visit there at all.

Saying shit like "the British need to stop asking permission to save themselves" is missing the entire point. A good number of people aren't even really aware there is a problem.

So you have to convince people there is a problem in the first place. If you have someone that is unlikeable, it isn't going to work. They had to rehabilitate Nigel Farage's image in the media before starting Reform.

Rupert Lowe actually comes off better than Nigel Farage IMO. The issue is that he isn't a household name.

Waking from my kumbaya, live-and-let-live, unaware stupor has been a miserable experience. Once, I knew nothing of rape gangs, of rampant 60IQ murderers, of hundreds of millions of pounds wasted on providing a life of luxury to foreign hordes who despise us. Once, I did not notice the plague of barbers and vape shops and international markets, I did not notice the loitering bands of dead-eyed migrants, I did not notice the graffiti, the litter, the excrement; now I cannot stop. The streets are filthy, the parks are dangerous, my neighbours are strangers who jabber in another tongue. Ignorance truly was bliss, and now I am filled with overwhelming hate; a hate I can do nothing with, which gnaws daily at my soul. Worse is that I cannot point it out in the vain hope of releasing the pressure, at best I only share the misery of having one's eyes opened, at worst I get a visit from PC Traitor. What the fuck am I supposed to do?!

It's like when a guest in your house rapes your kid, murders your wife and burns your house down
Or it's like when all your neighbours come to your house, gang-rape your kid, gang-murder your wife & gang-burn your house down. Factually, it's a larger issue which is affecting more people, more women and children patriots like you are desperate to protect.
I love how they completely overlooked crimes per capita
This isn't being overlooked - it's a disaster which absolutely needs to be confronted to protect citizens - not a subject matter for media grifter profit.

I was contacted by a GHCQ recruiter to work on some internal systems last year. The salary for a developer position there is quite poor compared to the private sector.
Yup, I am glad we are talking to the same people, because this is one of the big issues there right now. Cybersecurity in general is awfully paid if you do the grunt work. I know BAE and Qinetiq have had to make brutal cuts; the latter had to slash its management team by most. 6 billion is nothing in military spending; this is just upkeep costs. A couple of the independent companies I have worked with were already doing cuts and restructuring, and now they have to go back to the drawing board. My history is in financial and a lot of these companies are slashing so much that their finance department goes from 10 to 1/2. You cannot do AI in a lot of these processes, and should not, as its hallucination rates are too high, but most importantly, the data is confidential. GCHQ was telling contractors last year that they could put confidential data into AI to boost "efficiency." The problem is GCHQ and the other groups are handing out the contracts.

I am relieved to know that others noticed how bad the policing is, too. The thing is, as most of you know, the bulk of the good street level is all males. If they go thats it,

I need to find the video because it was on my burner, but on my feed, there was a video of Starmer and Lammy being escorted to their car; they were jumped by a group. There were 8 male officers and 2 around them, but these people were civil and calling them pedo defenders (they are). A group of 20 or so kettling them had the police rattled; they were peaceful.

The level of lies in this site is unreal at times. This never happened. No one was arrested, not even the terrorist, because he is dead. There was one man on day release, he was a convicted murdered nearing the end of his sentence and they do the day release thing to reintegrate. No one was charged in relation to trying to stop the attacker, they were praised as heroes (make of that what you will). But this endless lying about events marks you as one of the "Americans" who do nothing but talk about how bad the UK/Europe is all the fucking time. Even in the Karmello thread, when they are not dreaming of prison rape, its a few "if this was bri'ish, he would get no jail time lololol".

Not just that. Each crime committed by a foreigner would not be committed if they weren't here. They add to the problem. Removing them subtracts from the problem. They seem incapable of understanding this.

it looks like Starmer is trying to ban X or is making some attempt to do so. Do it, you would wish you hadn't. You can't stop the signal, once it's out.
The globalist believe this is all caused by a few bad apples on social media. The truth is the population doesn't need social media to be pissed off that the government is pumping in the shittiest immigrants, displacing the locals from work and lodging, and letting them get away with cultural genocide.

The reaction to this kind of bullshit would've been much worse a century ago, even 40 years ago in the pre-social media days. Its normal for people to be pissed off about atrocities like whats happening in Ireland and the UK.

was recently sent death threats by somebody (or somebodies) who is a member of this site
You're full of shit and probably a schizophrenic. I have no idea who you are why you keep tagging me and why you keep acting like anyone gives a shit about what you have to say, but if you're going to defame the site like this without any evidence to support your claim, you're kindly invited to fuck off.

I am seeing various headlines claiming the family have given the usual lines of "we don't want people to use this for political gain" etc.

Surely the police just force them to say this? I can imagine saying "Yeah this is fucked, get mad about it please" would be considering incitation of violence/civil unrest? I find myself never really giving a toss if the family have allegedly asked people not to kick off because frankly it's not their call to make, and I don't believe they really mean it either.

Interesting how poppy-wearing "patriots" have turned on moderate Islam even when UK & British-Colonial Muslims made up one of the largest contributions to the UK's war effort in both WW1 & WW2 - whilst riding the dicks of the likes of Churchill & the days of old.

Don't give a flying fuck, and i suspect it doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Sounds like the sort of bullshit somebody would say after claiming windrush niggers built the NHS, motorways and the London underground.

That's just the typical Reform strategy of trying to say that the person they disagree with is sending death threats or threatening to kill them. It's how they tried to get Rupert Lowe imprisoned to prevent him from forming an actual right wing party.
Reform is a party for scum sucking middle managers terrified of actual change.
Bunch of tossers.
However at least he managed to tag you properly this time and didn't tag "Josh" which hilariously means he almost certainly read every single post mocking him viciously.
