UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

My worry with all this shit is that everyone is going to be hyper focused on Sikhs and 'Banning the Kirpa' (Which is all I am seeing from right-wing Facebook pages, but chances are they're bot accounts from Pakistan or some shit) rather than getting our policing to not be "OI! DID DAT BOI SAY A RACISM? OH WE BE'ER PUT DA HANDCUFFS ON 'IM ROIGHT QUICK INNIT?", to drop these retarded hate speech laws so police can actually focus on real crime not hurt feelies and allow the citizenry to have some form of weaponised defence against mass illegal immigration which is obviously funded and run by drug/weapons smuggling operations which also are fucking our country up.

Fuck I hate how cucked the citizenry is here just so a bunch of unarmed dicks in hi-vis can "Protect" us from bad words while there's literal murders going on.

We should focus on the pigs not cucking us with bad words and also deport all the Sikhs and Muslims.

Here is the common sense the locals are adopting in response to the coppers being pro-shitskin.
Going full IRA on bent coppers.mp4
I don't condone violence but if Britain is to survive this globalism niggery being forced on them they need to adopt more tactics from the IRA and make their slogan Ourselves Alone.

Otherwise they're fucked.
I believe this video was from around the time of the Southport riots, not about Henry Nowak
I have a vague memory of seeing these video before

BBC Sinks To A New LOW…

The BBC has once again demonstrated its role as a partisan propaganda machine rather than a neutral public broadcaster.

On its flagship evening news show Newsnight, presenter Matt Chorley repeatedly claimed Reform UK leader Nigel Farage called for a "white cold rage" in response to the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak.

Yet Farage said no such thing. He called for "pure cold rage" - a measured, determined pushback against institutional failures and anti-white bias in policing and justice.

The BBC had just sunk to a new low.

On Newsnight last night, presenter Matt Chorley claimed Nigel Farage said people should respond to the murder of Henry Nowak with "white cold rage".

Nigel DID NOT SAY THIS.

The insertion of the word "white" by the BBC is obviously... pic.twitter.com/OwFxXNUy5N

- Zia Yusuf (@ZiaYusufUK) June 3, 2026
Chorley repeated the fabricated racial angle three times. The insertion was no accident. It transformed a call for equal justice and accountability into something that could be painted as divisive racial incitement.

When caught, Chorley issued a tepid apology on X, claiming a "misremembering" while insisting it "didn't change the content of the interview."

I owe Nigel Farage an apology.

During last night's Newsnight we covered the murder of Henry Nowak and the political reaction to the case, including discussing Nigel Farage's comments about "pure, cold rage".

However I referred to "white cold rage". This was a mistake on my part, a misremembering of the quote. It didn't change the content of the interview but I should have got the quote right. I apologise to Nigel Farage for this.

- Matt Chorley (@MattChorley) June 3, 2026
Of course it changed the content of the interview, it added racially inflammatory comments where there were none. You'd never have made a similar revealing slip THREE times using black instead of white.

Reflects your innate bias and that of the BBC.

And I don't trust Farage...

- Mark Kingsley-Williams (@Mark_A_K_W) June 3, 2026
Pure cold rage became "white cold rage" because the institutional mindset equates any pushback against two-tier standards with whiteness.

Completely unacceptable. Nigel Farage said "pure cold rage" and the BBC decided to report it as "white cold rage".

This is why fewer and fewer people trust the BBC. They created BBC Verify to counter misinformation, but they are the biggest culprits of misinformation. https://t.co/DRFJiCc209

- Chris Rose (@ArchRose90) June 3, 2026
Fuck off. You knew EXACTLY what you were doing.

Stop taking us for fools. We're sick of it, Matt.

- Professor Dr King Mike ? (@MikeSouthWestUK) June 3, 2026
If GB News did this to a left wing politician Ofcom would have raided the building by now.

Will the BBC be taken off air?

During a crucial byelection too. https://t.co/jFVGmDa9sh

Digwa was not handcuffed at the scene. His family stood over the dying victim pushing the race narrative. Hampshire Police's initial statement claiming quick life-saving measures was later deleted once the footage emerged. Protests followed the footage release. Some turned violent in Southampton last night, with clashes injuring officers.

This latest incident fits the established pattern of BBC editorial choices that downplay or twist stories challenging progressive narratives on policing, identity politics, and institutional bias. Previous coverage on the same programme saw presenter Victoria Derbyshire act surprised when an ex-cop refused to excuse the initial response to Nowak. The discomfort was palpable as facts about prioritising a false racism claim over a dying victim's pleas were laid out.

An ex-police officer appearing on BBC Newsnight described the response as "unfathomable." Basic procedure demands prioritising medical assessment for anyone reporting stab wounds and bleeding out, not handcuffing or accepting unverified claims from the attacker. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating. Nowak's father demanded transparency, stating his son "did not die with dignity" and that being read his rights was among the last things he heard while dying.

The BBC consistently frames cases involving white victims and minority perpetrators through a lens that protects DEI-influenced institutions while pathologising any demand for colour-blind standards.

The "white cold rage" fabrication is the latest example of this reflexive racialisation - turning legitimate fury over two-tier policing into a smear. It mirrors broader BBC output that has portrayed Islamist issues sympathetically, pushed contested social agendas, and faced lawsuits over distorted editing, including the ongoing Trump case. The organisation's charter obligations on impartiality appear secondary to its institutional worldview.

Farage's actual words on the Nowak case called for cold, principled determination to restore equal treatment before the law - not hot-headed violence or racial payback. The BBC's version injected race where Farage spoke of universal standards trashed by fear of labels. That single word change reveals more about the presenter's and the organisation's priors than about Farage.

We also knew this would be the leftist establishment playbook in the Nowak case when it finally received the attention it warranted.

Public trust in the BBC continues to erode precisely because of episodes like this. Licence fee payers subsidise an outlet that treats one side of the political spectrum as requiring constant racial vetting while giving institutional failures a pass.

Reform voices and ordinary citizens demanding accountability for the Nowak case and similar incidents are not the problem. The problem is an entrenched media class that cannot report straight when the facts challenge their worldview.

The weak apology changes nothing substantive. Full transparency, on-air correction, and serious consequences for editorial failures would be the start of rebuilding credibility. Until then, the BBC remains what its actions show it to be: a publicly funded vehicle for advancing selective narratives rather than pursuing truth.

Those who value free speech, equal justice, and genuine accountability know the only long-term answer involves stripping away its compulsory funding and letting it compete in the open market like every other outlet.

Guy in Surrey got crossbowed. I think a ban is coming down the pipeline and am gonna grab a couple beforehand. I already shoot a bow because I'm a nerd, but still.

Deportations (OUTSIDE of illegals) aren't really a solution to the problems the country has, Sikhs have been a pretty decent bunch from my personal experience and I don't think because 1 family of them went off the reservation into literal villan-levels of bullshit it means we should be turning our ire against the Sikhs, nor the Muslims.
The problem is our government has made a point of giving a privileged status to a lot of people who mostly don't want it or even feel comfortable about it, isn't it funny how a bunch of "Those people" are all in reform? It's because they're also kind of fucking sick of taking the flak every time a maniac from walla walla land smuggled in amongst women and children goes on some rape/murder spree and makes them all look like shit while our government runs protection and does the whole "PLEASE, THINK OF THE INNOCENT MOOSLIMS!"
It's all a fucking bit from this government who allow this all to occur so they can continue stripping rights from us all. First it was our weapons, we're not allowed to defend ourselves and even the definition of what is "allowed" is basically nebulous to the point people think the cops will totally be fine as long as you don't hospitalise the perp (Which isn't true), next it was our speech, to the point someone thinks they overheard you potentially saying something spicy and the old bill are round your place ready to drag you out kicking and screaming.

What's worse is with Nigel splitting his own fucking party 3 ways it's giving power to the fucking Greens. Lord help us if those fucking cunts get in.

“You burden the USA” line is especially stupid and more aptly applied to the English. England is one of the largest welfare nations in the developed world. In addition to parasites, you people have a problem with pedophiles. Law enforcement arresting 1,000+ offenders a month. Those are just the one’s that get caught. That’s not just paki’s that’s plenty of whites. Not surprised given your people’s history of subjugating the underclass.
I didn't even insult America in my post. In fact, I hold no resentment for the USA—we all have hope for the future.
Using your nationality/country as a crutch for self-worth does disservice your country and its people, which is how I know you don't care for your country as much as I do mine, especially since you're hiding behind the USA to attack another person/country, when I was attacking you and only you for your pro-immigration mindset.
The lamest part of your post is the fake nobility. You talk about family, friends, and “your people,” but this is just typical english resentment.
You cannot comprehend decisions made for anything other than ego or reward because you're mentally incapable of understanding love.
What a piteous existence you lead.

I tend to be harsher in my opinions on the UK because they had such a shared DNA with America and thus should be held to a higher standard, They really are a decayed empire at this point. You have to be blind to not notice everyone is gearing up for another world war and when the dust settles I fully expect the UK to get the Ottomin Empire treatment.

Sikh dude with special privileges to carry a knife stabs someone. Gov will try to restrict knives for all.
Saudi dude shoots someone with a crossbow. Gov will try to restrict crossbows for all.

There's nothing they wont use as an excuse. There's nothing you can do to stop people getting or making weapons. Because so many things can be a weapon. Back in the day I remember people making a not that bad cosh out of folded up newspaper.

I'm tempted to buy a crossbow just on principle. Even though I have no desire to shoot anybody and the only conceivable circumstances I could use one for defence (hardly going to take it for a run or shopping) would be in the home. At which point I'm likely within a couple of metres of whoever has broken in and can just run at them. EDIT: Still, they're pretty cool and the pope did try to ban them...

What if I made one into soup? I mean what's the worst that could happen?
You having Ozzy Osbourne round to tea, or something?

Banning the Kirpa'
They won’t ban the kirpan. They will ban the rest of us from anything with even the tiniest blade, they’ll push for blunt kitchen knives and you’ll not even be allowed a Swiss Army knife
It occurs to me that the British version of necklacing would involve a flaming wheelie bin and I am amused by this mental image.

don't think because 1 family of them went off the reservation into literal villan-levels of bullshit it means we should be turning our ire against the Sikhs, nor the Muslims.
The Muslims actively want your destruction. They are not some vaguely ok immigrant community with a few bad apples, they are organised, and they want a completely different vision for where you live and how you live. The level of Muslims you want in your country is zero.

An Indian is still an Indian. We're gonna deport them all brother
Update from police: the victim was a university security officer, not a lecturer as initially reported

Here is the common sense the locals are adopting in response to the coppers being pro-shitskin.
I set an AI on it to try and find out what it might know. It couldn't find it, but in the process of its searching it found several other incidents in the last five years. I'd estimate there's been a riot every four or five months since 2024, most of which don't make it past the local news because the national news just refuses to cover them. This is what I mean when I say people don't realise just how violent things have gotten in this country. The national media and the government are masters of information suppression, to the point that most people in the country have no idea that there's been major street violence for years over the immigration issue. It usually gets reported as "thugs" or "gang violence", if it's reported at all. I knew about some of it, which never even made local news never mind national, but the number of incidents is more than I'd suspected. Frankly, it feels like it's only a matter of months before the whole place goes up.

Next season of Adolescence gonna be wild with some drunken celtic pagan LARPer stabbing a meek university student played by Richard Ayoade with a rusty dagger covered in germanic runes.

The UK police don't get enough hate. Neither does their administration is this is not the first time they've fucked up. This; the grooming gangs; and other unnoticed incidences. Nothing has changed. These people are grossly incompetent on the taxpayer dime.
Yea we get it you're american you don't need to prove it. Everyone fucking hates the police. Every side hates the police. Literally everyone hates the police. Whether that's because they're racist against x group, their inability to solve any crime, the fact they don't show up half the time, the grooming gang shit. And so on. Literally every single side fucking hates the police. This isn't america.
They won’t ban the kirpan. They will ban the rest of us from anything with even the tiniest blade, they’ll push for blunt kitchen knives and you’ll not even be allowed a Swiss Army knife
Did you know that with nothing more than some water, a house brick and a ceramic mug you can take a blunt knife and turn it in to a sharp one? You cannot ban sharp knives without banning the concept of physics. They're retarded enough to try but it'll never work. Even then we've seen what a few bricks can do.

it’s why you should NEVER touch a bat and if you find a bat 🦇 n your home you need to inform your doctor even if no visible bite. Uk bats carry EBLV - bat lyssavirus, which technically isn’t rabies, but is pretty much the same thing.
Bats are fantastic creatures, they eat quite phenomenal amounts of bugs and are essential for a healthy ecosystem but they’re an arms length thing. Do not touch bats, do not touch anything bats have been on - the lyssavirus can spread via a bats saliva and it is lethal
Not just that, although bats do carry a number of diseases and their bites aren't always notable, but you are also likely to hurt the bat. Bats that haven't been raised by humans are extremely skittish creatures and very fragile on account of their hollow bones. The longer you handle one, the more likely they are to struggle enough to hurt themselves. This is both bad for obvious reasons and potentially illegal if it's a protected species which all bat species in the UK are.

As for not touching stuff bats use, this is good for a number of reasons. In theory, you can get a lyssavirus from it, but that's extremely rare, and I'm not sure there's ever been a recorded case of transmission without direct contact except in India which is suspect at best. More worrisome is that you get horrible diseases from breathing bat guano, especially histoplasmosis and some other fungal infections. Best practice is to just watch bats unless you're a professional.

Did you know that with nothing more than some water, a house brick and a ceramic mug you can take a blunt knife and turn it in to a sharp one?
My kids are fond of some dude on YouTube who recreates Stone age weapons with Stone Age materials and then shows how they work with slow motion videos and ballastics gel. Turns out you can make a bit of wood into a blade that can slice a skull open, all by itself, just wood. When you add the innovation of Bits Of Rock you can do all sorts of things.
I was after a new pen knife last year and I saw loads of Swiss army type ones with blunted tip knives. Shocking. How’s a kid going to learn to handle them safely like that?
