Maybe I'm wrong, but I think we're all of the opinion that when Wu says she's been working 18 hour days meeting with unnamed policy experts, making calls, going to events in district 8, etc,... that's all a pack of lies, right? It never occurred to me before, but is the whole "backchannel" thing more of the same? Invisible work that Wu claims she's doing to excuse the fact that she never visibly does anything.
I still wonder how many of these lies Frank is subjected to. Does she tell him she's working really hard at politicking when actually she sits at home playing Tekken? How much of this does he actually believe, versus just rolling his eyes and saying "yes dear, very good dear"? There are some lies like the one about how quickly they got engaged that she tells that Frank obviously knows aren't true, but he doesn't stop her from telling them.
