Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate
Wu sent this repulsive email to everyone on her list:
The spelling and formatting errors aside, that's utterly repellent to anyone with half a brain. The blatant money grubbing and cheap attacks on her opponent as a "Republican in a cheaper suit" ought to be enough to disqualify Wu permanently from any political office. It must be galling to be a guy like Lynch, who genuinely seems to care about the people he represents and tries to do his best for them, to have to run against such a disgusting liar and opportunist.
"Input caption text here." Good to see that despite running on a platform of technological advancement, Wu still manages to deep-six her own campaign on the regular.
I understand why they used Frank as the figurehead in the video, even if it was ill-advised. But I've never before seen a candidate so repulsive that they need a stand-in for their emails.

I don't, why wouldn't you use a resident of MA-8 over a non-resident and husband of the candidate? It would be far more impactful if he ran an ad with someone well known in the district that supports John.
Alas, no such person exists. All his support are out of state or country.
Edit: Another thing, if John/Brianna is so stunning and so brave why hasn't he held that town hall he tweeted about months ago? He's too chickenshit to stand up in front of real people, without a script or prepared questions, to do it. He knows people will ask him hard questions that he can't answer or handle. Maybe some goober gobber will show up and John will stammer and lose his shit on video and then that's it for the troon scampaign.

Running against a completely repulsive whack job who looks like he escaped from a sideshow is having a dream opponent. I'm sure Lynch isn't giving John any more thought than he deserves.
The e-mail just proves that Wu isn't trying to win. Just raise money for the scam. Nothing about policy, just "MY OPPONENT IS LITERAL DONALD TRUMP SEND MONEY FAST". Since Lynch is so popular in the district, this would be a disaster going out to anyone in it. It's aimed at morons outside the district who will give her money for electronics and Potbelly so they feel like good progressives.
Frank Wu points out that Brianna Wu was out protesting the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.
Frank Wu attacks Stephen Lynch's deliberate, measured posture in favor of action.
There is no talking about Policy.
Advertising is a tough field. You need to be attention grabbing, have a strong message and somehow rise above the endless noise that everyone else is creating. Stephen Lynch's Ads arguably aren't good enough to quite be that decisive--think about Trump shouting "I am Going to Make America Great Again!"--and it's clear 45 at least knows how to make a fast pitch.
What we have here is a man who can't look into the camera, can't even dress up for something that is going to be shown to the world, in front of what may well be a webcam, rattling on about his spouse. There is no set, there is no soundtrack, and in the age where it is perhaps easier and better than ever to show the story, there is a quirky recital.
One of the great things about democracy is that it is a popularity contest. People who can't even make it to business casual for a political broadcast are lunchmeat.
> "I think the American public are just sick of the only message politicians have is that the other guy is bad"
> Immediately turns around and releases an advert and email blast where the only message is "the other guy is bad."
Passionate about driving? You turn a key, press a pedal, the car goes. I can definitely understand the allure for people who have never driven, after all I was 14 once
The scampaign is pretty obviously just an excuse to squander the money of stupid people who have no idea how politics works, proven by the fact they consider a freakish, snarling tranny a plausible candidate against a popular incumbent.
It was just made so Wu could say she was doing something with her time to justify that she actually has a job and isn't just sitting at home playing peggle and watching daytime TV.
It seems like she enjoys pissing around in Final Cut Pro, it's something she feels like she can do. It doesn't matter that end product looks like babby's first video project or that she has no means of distributing the "adverts" she creates to a wider audience, it's just busywork. I mean look at this recent one, even with begging for retweets she still only got 40 of 'em. Maybe a few hundred people saw this in their twitter feed and a couple of dozen actually watched it.
We saw this same pattern with Revolution 60. It was self-evident that the year she spent on disco lighting wasn't going to help sell additional copies, and doubly so with the 4 or 5 months she spent on trailers. It didn't matter in the slightest to Wu, who didn't have to care about making money or keeping her studio afloat. All that mattered is that she was seen to be a "woman in tech."
