Why didn't they do the intergalactic siren civil war teased at the end of BL2?

I was always confused why that just got completely dropped despite being much much more interesting than the cringe dogshit that was BL3s and BL4s plots.

I’ve been playing Borderlands 4 and it is painfully unambitious. BL3 had you traveling to different planets with wild locales but for BL4 you have a generic grassland setting and a generic desert setting. But you got rain and snow effects! This actually reminds me a lot of the first game in terms of design. Seems like a huge step backwards.

I still remember the hype for 3. Good times honestly, before we knew the story was shit.

3 is somehow more memorable than 4.
bl3 story is utter fucking dogshit but atleast the game has a major upgrade on gunplay and how differently you can play each class, versus bl2.
borderlines 2 gunplay is kinda meh in comparison, the devs honestly should have remade bl1 or bl2 instead of releasing borderlands 4.

BL2 also had a major problem with the weapons just being way too weak in the first playthrough thanks to Epic listening too much to no-lifers who played 6 runthroughs of the first game.

Nobody wants to have to dump 8 mags into common enemies 500 times to get to the next checkpoint so they can buy more ammo, rinse and repeat another dozen times to get through a mission.

It's funny that you say that, because it gets so, so much worse on subsequent playthroughs - by Playthrough 3, slag becomes mandatory to do any meaningful damage, and everything that isn't Legendary feels like shit for the most part. The first playthrough is the only one where lower rarity weapons are usable.

The bullet sponginess has always been a problem though. BL1 lategame sucks if you aren't melting everything with anarchy SMGs or critting everything to stunlock.

I remember one thing from the Giant Bomb podcast I ever agreed with. One of them called Borderlands “Running backward while shooting: The Game”.

Truer words were never spoken!

Borderlands 2 never gave me anything as cool as the incendiary SMG with double capacity clips or the shotgun that fired rockets I found in BL1!

Only way i play borderlands 2 these days is by using bl2reborn mod. its just a console .txt executable that changes alot ALOT of things in the game for the better.
Also alot of new weapons.
It has its own wiki too for drop tables.

Fuck that.

I finished the game and all the DLC except for the prequel to BL3 that has an insane difficulty spike vs the last regular DLC, and moved on to other games.

Also, "a lot" is TWO words, not one. Mod your grammar, not your games.

To be fair, BL3 was released back when the Borderlands franchise had a lot of goodwill, especially from the back of BL2 and Tales of Borderlands.
i've still to finish the standard basic bitch version of BL3 that i got on epic but the dialogue is so fucking cringe i can't play for too long because of that although i did pirate BL4 and honestly was not surprised seeing that the story got worse, gameplay wise it's fucking destiny so it's not as fuckawful as to be unplayable but it's still bad.
