I just had the realization that I haven't played a good borderlands game 12 years, because everything that came out after the Pre-Sequel was garbage. I also think a lot of the love that I have for the Pre-Sequel stems not only from how good the story was but for the fact that half of the characters sound exactly like me.
I mean don't get me wrong the game playing three was great but when everything else from your characters to your story to your repetition is shit, gameplay isn't enough.
They really need to pack it in and start from scratch.

God dammit. Even after all these stability updates BL4 still crashes semi-regularly on my system with "GPU Crash dump triggered" message. I have tried pretty much every snake oil fix out there, but nothing seems to work. Sometimes I can play for hours without problems and sometimes it happens after 15 minutes of playing. I don't think it's a hardware issue since it's the only game I have any problems with.

They only killed off Scooter because (according to his voice actor) he couldn't perform any more due to health issues, so it was his decision.

Yeah a lot of people said it was alright but very badly optimized and Randy began violently shitting himself on Twitter telling everyone to just quietly refund it if they didn't have a modern enough PC to play his UE4 slop. Thus whatever goodwill the game had disintegrated and everyone stopped talking about it.

Don't feel bad it's most certainly not your system I played it on an a first gen MSI claw and had the exact issues you do and I guarantee that claw is significantly more under powered compared to whatever you have. They just fucked up something and just are too incompetent to fix it.

To be fair, BL3 was released back when the Borderlands franchise had a lot of goodwill, especially from the back of BL2 and Tales of Borderlands.
By contrast, BL4 is released after like a full decades of no good Borderland games and off the back of the critical failure that was the Borderlands movie.

I still remember the hype for 3. Good times honestly, before we knew the story was shit.
3 is somehow more memorable than 4.
Never thought I'd see it get worse. They had a whole plot line from pre sequel to follow up on, and a random George Floyd gold nigger is the antagonist now? Fuck off. Even the Calypso twins had more character even as wasted potential.

Its both hilarious and baffling to me how they went from establishing an amazing tone, following up on that 4 times (first Telltale counts and was great), and then entirely out of nowhere went with streamslop shit that was 3. And since 3 flopped, they just doubled down on retards who said, "Im just grind da guns with game volume off and my own music on bwecuz the story sucks to replay Nth amount of times," and added more fucking gimmicks to gameplay and just flushed the story with safety in 4.
BL's progression is literally like Saints Row if you think about it.
