One thing I hear from boomers even from my Republican-voting parents, is that they somehow have gotten the idea that immigrants work harder than people born and raised in the country. This could've been true in the past, but where did they even get this idea?

Because boomers were lazy fucks who dragged the bar low enough that illegals were a step up. The ones that weren’t pioneering adult daycare jobs were union workers making double time to achieve nothing at a time when 20 hrs/wk was enough to keep a bachelor reasonably afloat.
