To be fair I have never used the word indefatigable in my life and im around a rather learned crowd where things explode or melt if not done precisely. Its not used often. This post marks my first use of it im sure.
Maybe indefatigable is a bit too much but there was that viral video going around a while ago where inner city kids, mostly black, were struggling to read a passage with "silhouette" and didnt know what it was.

the amount of plain retardation in the education system is becoming too much to bear. i've seen an entire room of honor students swear on their lives that Russia is communist in 2026. and in terms of knowledge about Christianity, ooohh boy.... if they (and boomers too) found out what Paul really meant about walking in the flesh they would have heart attacks

Worse, they start giving you unsolicited advice on form, yet they're still the most out of shape fucks in the gym and remind you that they're at the gym because their doctor told them to
The worst is leg day or ab day because they’ll just park their carcasses on a leg or ab machine, do a rep a minute, and just sit there dopey eyed looking around or looking at AI slop memes on Facebook.

And the moment they get off after doing 5 reps after 5 minutes, there is another boomer making a beeline for that machine.

I got one who has a massive gut yet he does chest and arm exercises with a heavy weights. Perhaps it's the result of using steroids throughout his lifetime.

Can we talk about what a failure boomers also largely were as parents?

One of my older friends who went to a larger high school and graduated back in 2002 remarked that probably half the guys in his graduating class ended up homeless on drugs or as wave slave Redditors. He said that a considerable chunk of girls right after they graduated went to Los Angeles for “modeling”…

I think you know what I mean by “modeling”.

So boomers are fine with their sons being strung out on drugs on the streets? And their daughters getting all three of their holes violated and ramrodded out?

The post WWII paradigm with the boomers had an education system which was inherently contradictory, teaching kids that they could be anything and everything they wanted to, that a retarded black kid from harlem could go to the moon and also that money was the highest ideal, not proficiency or skill or talent. Everything done was done for cash, so your proficiency should be hyper specific to the ignorance of everything else, doesnt matter if you couldnt speak good english as long as you could do what was required. Instantly all standards dropped, people stopped aspiring for better things and this specialist education system basically destroyed 200 years of achievement in most areas. Im sure today theres no boomer who can speak latin as well as someone from 1920 and even if some of them went to Vietnam, theyre fat fucking slobs who dont give a shit now. And now we got kids in high school who dont know what extraordinary or indefatigable is.
So are you saying the Boomers made the US education this way through policy change or that they struggled in school and their ww2 and silent generation elders (who ran and dominated the country post WW2 up until the 1990s and still had power into the 2000s and 2010s) took pity on them and made the education system easier for them?

Lately I've seen the boomers on X try using the Vietnam War as an argument for how tough they had it.

Keep in mind that only ~6-7% of boomers were drafted for Vietnam, the majority of American troops in Vietnam were enlisted and not drafted, and draftees comprised about 25% of the forces in Vietnam.

It's quite disgusting, really. They're using what happened to a very small minority of them as proof as to how difficult they had it.

It reminds me of one of the therapy scenes from The Sopranos, where Tony uses the struggles of Italian immigrants as an excuse for his own lifestyle.

"That might all be true, but what do the 6% of boomers who were drafted have to do with you and what happens every morning you step out of bed?"

Every Vietnam vet I've ever met hates communists with a burning passion and literally thinks a lot of their generation I decroded human anti American scum.
Your average Vietnam vet still helps the grandkids. And we'll throw bricks at the fag relatives. Why not throw bricks but verbally abuse them?
Your average left wing shit Lib narcissistic boomer would not understand the basic concept of self sacrifice if it hit them in the head.

Something happened in the 50s, with McCarthyism, the active measures program and ignorance of boomers that it changed afterwords. When boomers entered the workforce in the 60s, it all went bust and they reinforced the nonsense which happened to them. I wouldn't say it's entirely the silent generations fault cause they were the last of the experienced but I feel like they got blinded a bit, for sure. Also they only held absolute power till the 80s, after which they became geriatrics.

I swear I'm alone in this, for the love of Christ someone please agree with me: 1950s and 1960s classic cars are, for the most part, rancid bricks of shit, and the boomers who obsess over them and religiously maintain them should have their eyelids held open as they watch them get crushed into neat and tidy little cubes.

I'm not talking about Corvettes, or a Cutlass Supreme - cars like that have good design in my opinion. No, I'm talking about cars with Virgil Exner's "Forward Look" design: the 1957 Bel Air or the 1961 Chrysler 300G are both prime examples of what I mean. A certain subsect of boomers have a rabid, unexplainable nostalgia for the aesthetics of the 50s and 60s, and that whole look just makes me viscerally ill.

Sidebar, but I want to see every wood paneled station wagon burn as well. To me, they're like the hideously malformed, retarded grandfather of the Nissan Cubes and Kia Souls of today, and were yet another grotesque embodiment of the boomer soul. There's a fat old fucker who lives by himself in my town who still has one. I pray that one day I'll get to see it crashed on the side of the road and engulfed in flames.
As a prewar car enthusiast I agree. Boomer boats were way more cheaply made and disposable than modern cars. They would rust out in a few years anywhere they use road salt and if that didnt happen theyd be completely worn out by 100,000 miles. Pre war cars were built to an insanely high quality standard, even the model T and a Fords were made of vanadium tool steel that was extremely rust resistant and they were common daily drivers for poor people as recently as the 1960s.

I stopped believing all boomer tales about work. They didn't work shit. Got five times the money for half the work we do.
some did work really hard, but those were blue collar manual labor types who never got rich, and generally aren't giving retard boomer platitude "advice" today
i've seen this in my own extended family: the old man who was a truck driver is now a really down to earth guy and great to talk to, while the one who worked in a corporate office job is full of stereotypical boomer delusions (and also very fat)

Another classic Boomerism: insist your kids play a game with you. Teach them the rules of that game but never, ever teach them any strategies or tactics. That way, you will always win, and you can sit in self-congratulatory smugness while telling yourself you outsmarted your stupid kids.

^ This literally applies to games but is also an analogy.

You lost to your dad at Gin Rummy didn't you

postwar land yachts generally held up quite well but they needed preventative maitenance (undercoating, frequent oil changes, etc.) which boomers did not do as they took the cars for granted and did stupid shit with them like designate a specific car as a "winter beater" where you drive the thing all winter, let road salt accumulate, and then when it inevitably starts rusting out send it to the nearest scrapyard. rinse and repeat each winter. you can even see the fuckers buying up clean unrestored 1970s boats for demolition derbies even today. there's a really obvious pattern with things like this where boomers were in the midst of great levels of prosperity and either squandered it hedonistically until they couldn't enjoy it anymore or took it for granted and distanced themselves from it out of a mistaken sense of virtue. i gotta do an effortpost about that later but specifically sexual attitudes that are like that have led to the hellscape we have today, with the incel crisis, really fucked up porn everywhere, etc.

to a boomer your child is either a 150 iq ceo in training from an ivy league college or a jobless crackhead POS leech that deserves the 12 ga. nothing in between. most kids aren't the first standard, hence the reality that ensues which you are talking about right now. of course there's also parents that don't give a shit about their children's status & associated bragging rights but those seem to be fewer in number than the overprotective retards.
