Keep in mind that only ~6-7% of boomers were drafted for Vietnam, the majority of American troops in Vietnam were enlisted and not drafted, and draftees comprised about 25% of the forces in Vietnam.
It's quite disgusting, really. They're using what happened to a very small minority of them as proof as to how difficult they had it.
It reminds me of one of the therapy scenes from The Sopranos, where Tony uses the struggles of Italian immigrants as an excuse for his own lifestyle.
"That might all be true, but what do the 6% of boomers who were drafted have to do with you and what happens every morning you step out of bed?"
