Should have seen that kid's face when I told him all the extras he's done would have put him so far up as an overachiever that he'd be in orbit if he did so when I was going through school. Fully able to write his own ticket anywhere from Google to the tech startup rodeo of the 2010s. I had to explain this. That if "everyone" is doing this if they and their families are serious about getting ahead in life then the most ball busting Valedictorians of my K12 experience were lazy shitbirds in comparison.

Millenial myself, but that doesn't surprise me. It's been brought up before how a lot of millenials are basically aging into boomers with zero self awareness. Especially how the rising boomer hate memes of late 2019-early 2020 re: covid offing them instantly flipped to "YOU NEED TO QUADRUPLE MASK AND STAY INDOORS IN ONE ROOM TO SAVE THE HECKIN BOOMERINOS"

Zillenial here (so that just happened), and yes the millenials are careening into the floor. I think the same way that TV propaganda one shot boomers and vaporised their frontal lobes, a lot of millenials got zapped by social media propaganda with the same effect. Only difference is that they aren't going to have any money lmao.

A theory has started to form in my mind. Could this possibly be due to the high divorce rates of boomers and them having a second set of children? My sister and I are both Gen-X. We were raised on neglect. When my mom re-married my step-dad and had my brother who is a millennial, things are WAY different with him. He's kind of a fuck up and they still baby him (their baby boy) to this day even though the dude is almost 40. He lives in their second home, a summer home, in New England. And whatever he needs they do it for him. I suspect he has an addiction problem that is being enabled and hidden from the most of the family.

Don't be surprised when they die and they leave a portion of their will/estate to these random people

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if my Dad scribbled a secret will on a napkin and is leaving his entire estate to Wonderhussy. He developed a huge dirty old man crush on her after I put on a couple of her youtube videos last year. She's the same age as me! Very disgust.

Maybe your millennial parent was spoiled and enabled by your boomer grandparents? I am trying to figure out why they treated their Gen-X kids so differently. If it has to do with boomer divorce or what.

That's why I didn't end up having kids until I was nearly 40. We couldn't afford it. So I'm a Gen-X mom raising Gen-Alpha (I think?) kids and I'm always the oldest mom at swim lessons or whatever we do. Most Gen-X people I know are raising their kids totally different than we were raised. Dare I say possibly bordering on helicopter parenting situation? I homeschool mine because the schools are garbage and dangerous. No one is going to look out for them like I'm supposed to and feel compelled to do.

Well since she's a youtuber and older I don't think it's technically porn. But, yes, she does push the boundary. And you just reminded me of when I actually did find his porn collection when I was helping clean out his disheveled house. Thanks for that. He had this back bedroom that was filled to the ceiling with all sorts of random stuff. Some of it was car parts for an old MGA which some people were coming over to buy. I had to clear a path to access it for the people. And I happened upon his old broken fish tank filled with smut magazines and VHS tapes. Again. Very disgusting!

It’s because the vast majority of millennials are spineless cowards who stand for nothing.

Yeah, don't follow that Boomer advice.

Boomers who said this, to include my own parents, often experienced it when they were young and relatively poorer. But at the same time even during this period of being broke they had a car, a home, and decent prospects (or at least a stable income). This was true even if you were a total fuckup most of the time.

A Gen Z in the middle range today can have student loans, a car (on payments, maybe too expensive for them), and shit prospects with little they can do about it? I have a lot of sympathy for Gen A and Gen Z in this way.

I wonder what they think when some faggot like Scott Galloway goes on a Ted Talk and proudly explains he majored in turning household objects into bongs at UCLA in the 80s. Only to graduate and work at Morgan Stanley as a well paid analyst and then lol his way into a tenured professorship with just a MBA, as well as starting various companies along the way.

Goes without saying that that kind of path requires a near perfect pedigree out the gate today.
