Yes, it's a serious federal felony, unlike just not paying your taxes. If the IRS got wind of it and had video of him admitting it was on purpose and even boasting about it, he'd be going to federal prison, and not federal resort prison, real Wesley Snipes prison.

Note Snipes did three years, because he wasn't convicted of willful fraud, because he had been snookered by some sovcit weirdo who himself got ten years and was able to convince the jury he was acting in the delusional but sincere belief the sovcit tax law threories he'd been sold were legitimate.

Note this is one of the few areas of law where ignorance of the law is an excuse, because the specific intent element requires your offense be willful. You can't just be convicted of committing the illegal act, you had to have committed it knowing you were in the wrong.

But don't do it. First, snitching to the IRS is ultimate bitchcraft (barring situations like someone stealing cancer kid charity money). No human would do this. Second, you should never voluntarily interact with the IRS. You do not want to direct that Eye of Sauron upon yourself unless you are more pure than the driven snow.

It's telling that the better reason is simply because you don't want the agency that has its own paramilitary and forces to look at you and rip you apart as well.

That is a testament to how shitty Soulless Steve genuinely is.
