Looking at his reactions and how everything panned out, I am 100% certain Boogie tried to get Wings to play along. He was shown blowing up his phone often, and with what he did during the Hassle situation one can assume Boogie thought they could just pull a low effort kayfabe. He was expecting Richard to do the same thing he was, which was doing fucking nothing but talk a lot of shit to hype it up and if it really had to come to it try to play out a match and have everyone kiss your ass for trying. Once that fist connected to his face his whole idea of what this was all about was shattered. He knew he was fucked and was scrambling to figure out what to do.
I finally got around to watching the rest of the post-fight reactions from boogie, and I had to go back to this post because it matches my thoughts exactly.
this is how he responded when asked if he'd be seen back in the ring:
the mask slips and he basically admits he wasn't ready for what just happened and gets pretty angry about it as if he had a completely different expectation of how the fight would go down.
wings was already under a microscope from people attempting to find any crumb of a lead to imply the fight was being rigged because of what he tried to do with syndicate years ago, so I'd be hard pressed to believe that wings somehow directly mislead boogie into thinking he wasn't taking this seriously. a more likely explanation is that boogie is such a lazy fat retard to the point where he spun up the idea that wings was just as lazy and worthless as he is to justify and find comfort in his inability to do literally fucking anything remotely beneficial for his health or the fight. we all know underneath the wholesome nice guy persona, boogie is a massive prick. he can write off his shit talk as "putting on a show" all he wants, but he was such a smug faggot leading up to this fight, legitimately underestimated wings, and thought of him and the match as some sort of joke. now he's pissed because he got caught with his pants down (literally)
from day one this boxing match meant nothing more to boogie than a means to cling to relevancy. the ridicule from his begging video was still fresh, his views were continuing to spiral downward, but the boxing match was his golden ticket. the day keem announced the fight, boogie ran to twitter to film a video of him shirtless hitting his punching bag and taunting wings to cash in on the initial hype. he used the boxing match as an in to appear on multiple podcasts then proceeded to bore everyone with the same tiring stories we've all heard multiple times before. he didn't have any actual boxing content to talk about since he wasn't fucking doing anything. not a single training regimen was shown outside of short video snippets of him hitting a punching bag for 10 seconds at a time.
he over exaggerated and lied about his preparation for this fight every step of the way to build up the narrative that he was working hard and turning his life around for this boxing match because the dopamine rush of encouraging ass pats from delusional retards on social media who praise him for existing is and always will be his top priority.
"I worked with a retired boxer over the weekend" -> "some guy came up to my table at retropalooza and gave me tips"
"I'm sparring to learn how to take a hit" -> "my lanky friend with no boxing experience put on gloves and tried to hit me in the face"
"I've been working on my cardio" -> "I walked my dogs"
"I'm gaining muscle mass" -> "I can't stop eating and gaining weight"
when he wasn't fabricating his level of dedication and training, he was pushing the "I was in a wheelchair!" narrative so hard that there are people out there who actually believe his weight loss is some recent feat of his.
this guy has a genetic disorder that he can do fuck all about where as boogie has control over his situation, but he's too much of a lazy fat glutton and still clings to "success" he had
6 years ago. he even retweeted this to show everyone how inspirational he is to people despite being under false pretenses because he does not care about legitimacy or truthfulness as long as he's receiving those sweet, sweet ass pats.
people are giving boogie props for even stepping into the ring, but I personally question if he still deserves those props if the only reason why he stepped into the ring in the first place is because he lied to thousands of people week after week that he worked hard and then expected to have some sort of pitifully easy sock'em boppers match bouncing stomachs for 3 minutes so they could milk their "good job, you did it!" brownie points then go home 10k richer. boogie's ignorance and horribly inaccurate judgements towards wings is what got him into that ring, not bravery. if this was wings' second boxing match and boogie knew prior what he was capable of, I wonder if this all would have ever happened.
