Scenario 1: BlueSky fails and collapses, just like literally every other attempt at creating a direct competitor to a popular social media service.

Scenario 2: Enough people migrate over to BlueSky that it's able to sustain itself as a left-wing echo chamber, while Xitter correspondingly becomes a right-wing echo chamber.

I'd say Scenario 1 is by far the more likely of the two. Literally the only thing BlueSky has going for it is that lefties and degenerates, left bereft of their hugbox, want to create a new one somewhere else, which is what's feeding the current trend. But I'd say the vast majority of people just don't give enough of a shit, so even if a bunch of big accounts up sticks, they'll come crawling back when they realize that the vast majority of their followers haven't come with them, and the only thing these people care about more than ideological purity is clout.

Scenario 2 is nearly impossible, at least the "Xitter becoming exclusively right wing" part. There's an actual profit motive to running engagement bait/gimmick accounts now, and normies can't get enough of that shit going by engagement numbers. I can't even say that comparing this garbage to truth social, parler, or even gab is entirely fair - at least those stood a chance as a place of last resort when certain political views were being actively censored. This is another Mastodon, just worse. Once the funding stops, it's going to die.
I think this recent round of "everybody go to Bluesky" is already dead in its tracks, I've been seeing a lot of artists who claimed they were done with X posting again over there. Right now they have their finger in both pies, with some primo cope like "well I'm just going to only post my art over there while I advertise it on X" which just screams that engagement on the platform is minimal. How many times has the great Bluesky migration been attempted now? Is this number five? If the election and AI fearmongering weren't enough to move the needle, they are doomed to scenario 1.

We already have a case study on this, if anybody remembers Meta's Threads. It was queued up to be the Xitter killer too, a bunch of brands and celebrities flocked to the site and Musk was supposed to finished. We all know how that played out. Threads at least paid attention to part of why people went to Twitter back in 2009 by gathering up the celebrities, they just didn't get the memo that people stopped giving a fuck about celebrities BECAUSE of their posts on Twitter.

Is what I think anytime someone tries to hype up Bluesky, artists have been raving about leaving twitter due to the TOS changes regarding AI while lefties and trannies can't shut up the fuck up about how bad Elon is. I have seen very few artists delete their twitter accounts meaning they know bluesky could "fail".
That aside I think it is retarded for an artist to move to a twitter clone with far less users since the format itself is awful for browsing previous works and even discovering new content (I think tumblr was great at it, yet only two websites tried to replicate it). Some will cry about people not wanting to make an account "just to browse art" and how twitter and their clones provide more content beyond just art.

I have also seen people bitching and moaning about monetization "ruining" the platform since it encourages people to post bait and outrageous fake news to drive engagement and but I ask, isn't that what already happened before musk took over? Except now it right wingers get to do it too.
 
These weirdos really think that if they go to someplace that grows, they'll still not get trolled or bashed. They really can't win, because if it's so locked down nobody can say anything that kills it too. Great to see.
