I'm legitimately surprised I'm the first person to post this in a Bandcamp thread about lolcows. Let me introduce XCrimedogX from Boston, Massachusetts.

So you may be asking, "Okay Krycek, why should I listen to this?". Do any of you remember McGruff the Crime Dog? He was an icon of the Anti Drug movement in the 80s and 90s. All of these songs are hardcore covers of things like this.


Furry Straight-Edge Hardcore Cover band. I've probably left you with more questions than answers.
 
I don't use bandcamp for much beyond folk punk
and a WW1 concept album from the same group

I see Bandcamp, I post Godspeed You Black Emperor. Post rock, and indefinitely, /mu/core at it's finest.


Here's an album I discovered nearly 8 years ago. This is probably as old as I remember my music taste getting before I started listening to everything.
Surprisingly, this was my first experience where I actually enjoyed electronic music, and it was breakcore. At the time I didn't enjoy house music or trance or dubstep. It was breakcore that caught my interest at first.
Goreshit is the person I want to thank for shaping my music tastes and expanding them because without him, I wouldn't know bandcamp existed, and without bandcamp, I wouldn't know of the amazing things I was going to listen to in the future.
Haven't stopped listening to this album since I first heard of it.


Speaking of goreshit, here's something more outlandish by him but better suits his style. This is probably my favourite album by him that has that weird Lolicore genre on it.
It's one of his easiest albums to get in to in terms of his more fitting style of composition, but it's definitely not to most people's liking. His ambient tracks in here are absolutely beautiful though.


Now for some glitch pop and S H O E G A Z E. Imagine combining both of those. That's fuckin' crazy. Well, Sweet Trip did it, and you can listen to it.
This whole album is basically a genre clash. There are also elements of dream pop and IDM everywhere on this album. It's one of the craziest experiments I've seen in music to date.
Sidenote, overall amongst all my friends this is the best, highest rated album above every other album me and my buddies have collectively listened to.


Another good album is the spiritual successor to the Neotokyo Soundtrack, "0edit" which is also the name of the Neotokyo producer's secondary alias.
It's an IDM and Ambient album. Never really heard much like it besides maybe some Aphex Twin stuff. It's a very calming tracklist for the most part too.


Here's something really fucking long. The Expanding Universe was an album made in 1980 that sounds like it could've been made much, much later. It was only just re-released on Bandcamp a couple years ago.
At first the album only had four tracks being 55 minutes long in total, but the 2012 remaster that came out on Bandcamp added FIFTEEN new tracks, making this album nearly three hours long. A lot of these tracks go over 10 minutes in length too, making this one hell of a ride to be on. However, nothing really drags on since it feels like the slowness and ambience of each track just fits correctly.


Last track on this post; here's what I like to consider the best hip hop and rap release on Bandcamp of all time, and it's just one track that's nearly 11 minutes long.
It sounds so raw and grimey and stays true to the core of who Lil Ugly Mane is. It's LUM's strongest release and the most powerful rapping I've heard in the longest time.

 
Lots of great stuff in this thread. I've already found a few albums to download.

A few suggestions... maybe not as substantial as others in this thread, but I want to contribute something. (And for some reason it's not letting me line up the first tracks of each album for playing... no idea if that's how will work for everyone.)

iammanolis is a synthwave musician I found randomly through SoundCloud. I love lots of different types of synthwave, but iammanolis really infuses his stuff with a sense of nostalgia that I, as a layman, can't explain or define. I think the guy is a genius.



Digital Sex is the first vaporwave musician I ever heard, and this is still my favorite of his (?) albums. Like iammanolis (but in a very different way), Digital Sex has managed to capture not the feeling but a feeling of the late 80s/early 90s. I'm no less impressed it was done through sampling/plunderphonics.


Finally, Blinker the Star is less of a proper "band" with a constant lineup than it is the continuing project of one extremely talented Canadian multi-instrumentalist, Jordon Zadorozny. Blinker the Star has had several brushes with fame over the years, but the band has never managed to break through into mainstream success for reasons I don't understand. It's on the pop end of the indie rock genre, and at times it can be pretty "bright," but don't let that scare you away.

Hell yeah. The Shadow Man soundtrack is probably the best part of a pretty great game. I would kill for a remake... if he did the music.
