Some time ago I installed the Bandcamp app, intending to only use it to listen to RedLetterMedia commentary tracks while I clean the homestead. Since then, I've come to enjoy the sight and have found a great many albums that I think warrant people's attention. This is mostly me sperging about music I enjoy, but I encourage everyone else to post their favorite album or song from Bandcamp.


Probably my favorite album in the Cold Ambient genre.


The fact that so few people bring up Tim Haywood's name when they talk about greatest composers for horror games bothers me greatly. This man's work it criminally underrated.


As the name implies, it's a Streets of Rage inspired album, and a damn good one at that. If Sega were to announce a fourth retro style SoR in the vein of Sonic Mania, I can see Iceferno stepping up to provide soundtrack befitting the series.


Cyro Chamber Collaboration typically turns out great Dark Ambient albums with obvious influences in Lovecraftian horror. This just might be my favorite one they've done.

I've already made it clear that I have an infatuation with ambient albums. This is one of those instances where the soundtrack is leagues above the media in which it's affiliated with. Slender's Woods is just a generic Slendy game, but Aseptic Void's managed to make it worth playing by virtue of its incredible music.

Feel free to name your favorite BC albums as well. It's always good to give some attention to musicians that may have gone unnoticed.
 
Shout outs to my boy Machine Girl. His album wlfgrl has gotten a decent amount of attention, but his other stuff is pretty criminally overlooked. His newest album was a pretty good step forward in my quest to find out how to make digital hardcore actually good.

So this album is basically tropical Loveless. It's a huge, swirly wall of sound. It's a concept album, too! It's about a girl who gets transported into the ancient times. If you love shoegaze I'll highly recommend this.
Another shoegaze album, but from Finland. This one has heavy post-rock and heavy psych influences. Also falsetto Russian vocals. The cover used to be better, but they replaced it for some reason :(

Finnish pop! If you know what hypnagogic pop is, this should sound familiar to you. Very fun, quirky and brief. The first and last songs are highlights. Check this out if you are a fan of Ariel Pink and Mac Demarco.
Remember vaporwave? This album, in my opinion, is it's magnum opus. It takes new age music and vaporwave and sticks them together to create a very immersive and deep album. It sounds like you are exploring the ruins of Tokyo underwater. If you like vaporwave in any form check this out.
Joy Division with sludge metal, drone and post-rock influences. That's pretty much it. Really soul-crushing and bleak. Also has GarageBand drums
The breeziest, most poetic hip-hop album I've heard. Glitchy beats and guitar and piano samples. Perfect nocturnal album. I disagree with it's politics at times, but eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sophisti-pop with MIDI instruments. If that doesn't sound amazing to you already, I don't know what to tell you. The guy can't really sing, but he is passionate. I'd recommend this to people who like outsider art and pilotredsun.
Car Seat Headrest is a bit of a big name in indie music now, but when I found his music his albums had less that 1000 views on Youtube. This is my favourite album from him in terms of sound and lyrics. Recommended to people who like indie rock like Guided by Voices.
 
Definitely second Machine Girl.

4lung is one of my favorite EDM producers, her stuff is super fun. It may not appeal to you unless you're fond of fast heavy rave music, but it's definitely worth a listen. As far as recommendations go, "NAUGHTY DOGGY'S TERRIBLE BADTIME TRAPCORE HELL FOR GIRLS" is my favorite album. I find myself returning to it's fast, upbeat and catchy tracks and find them stuck in my head.

My favorite track from the album has to be STIM 2 THIS, which I find myself jamming out to a lot while gaming.


"DEAD BOiZ SUMMER RAVEWARS XII" is also very fun, it's bouncy and danceable.



"//SCREAMROLLER//" is a nostalgic blast from the past, remixing tracks such as Everytime We Touch and Stamp On The Ground. It makes me pretty happy.


 
I return with another fav of mine, Devi / blacksquares. She has a lot of aliases but I have her whole discography including rare stuff if you're interested.

Her aliases include "Mom", "Girls Rituals", "Cats Millionaire" and "Yellow Bile". There are more but those are the more recent and common ones

She makes experimental midi synthpop. It's nice to chill out to. I recommend EMERGENCY! as a starting place.


My favorite album is her I'm So Sorry EP, it flows so well and is a great experience. It's based on the origin story of the sisters from MLP, but it's still enjoyable without the background knowledge.


I don't know why I didn't mention Devi the first time I posted in this thread.

Also note: I just found out there's a cow named Devi, this is a different Devi haha
