Got curious which one is most often liked. I tend to like pork and chicken because it's cheap and yummy. Beef is unreasonably pricey where I live and if it's not cooked to perfection I feel that my money is wasted so I don't buy it often.

I think I eat more beef, then chicken and dead last is pork. I like all three but I find that pork recipes I like are either whole roasts or something I can make with any other protein, and it's just as good if not better than with pork.

But what about the humble mutton/lamb. That shit is expensive and just like with pork, it's usually some variation of a roast. I love roasts but I'm a single person household, so it's just easier to eat minced meat instead of cooking a roast.

Chicken is good because is very versatile and cheap. Hell, i've made preparations that called for quail, but used smaller chickens (galeto) and turned out even better. Maybe it's because i dislike quail, but it turned out pretty good

Beef is my favorite because it just tastes the best, but getting more and more expensive. Pork is cheap too but not as versatile as chicken

Also why you're letting the fish out of the topic? Give them some love too

Beef is superior obviously (especially if it's a nice cut of steak), but my main struggle I have is that I just don't know what to cook with ground beef other than basic stuff like spaghetti. With chicken I can fry up tenders or make bbq wings in the smoker. I could shred up chicken and make chicken salad if I wanted to. I struggle with diversity when it comes to beef. Pork is my least preferred as I never really go out of my way to eat it.

Duck I've had a singular time at a bistro and it was the most succulent, delicious meat I've had; so I'm vouching for some nicely cooked duck as well.

  1. Game meat (rabbit, venison, bear, whatever) because I love "gamey" flavors
  2. Lamb/mutton
  3. Duck
  4. Beef
  5. White meat fish (Bass/Catfish) and shellfish
  6. Chicken
  7. Pork
Pork is still great though, I think it's a shame it's so often smoked or honeyed or otherwise flavored and preserved when it has good flavor without that.

chicken is the best meat imo. Relatively cheap, plenty of ways to cook and introduce into dishes. Pork second best because of its quality to price ratio. Beef in third because shits is expensive. Some cuts are ridiculously pricy for what you get but ground beef over ground pork anytime. Ground pork just too fatty for my taste and ground beef is just very versatile and not that much more expensive.

Pork is amazing when it's done right. Kalua pork is probably one of the best things I've ever had. But bad porkchops are like eating a plank of wood. Bacon is also kind of overrated IMO.

Chicken is similar. If done right, chicken is good. If done wrong, it's just kind of dry and miserable.

Beef is fairly consistent in my experience. It's usually not inedible when not done well, barring a rock-hard steak.

chicken (and turkey!) first, fish second, pork third, beef last. I've lived in beef country before and had access to some fresh ass cuts straight from a friend's farm, but even then, I've never really enjoyed steak. poultry is my shit. I eat chicken breast almost every day, you can make a fucking incredible meat dish with just a little bit of ingenuity and an oven or slow cooker. a little olive oil, salt and pepper, paprika, fresh garlic and rosemary. cook that shit up until it's nice and tender and serve it in its own jus. no sauce necessary. delicious.

for fish, I usually eat salmon. yeah, I'm a basic bitch. there's a reason it's popular. you can put basically anything on it and it always comes out tasting good.

if I want red meat, pork is my go-to. ground pork, pork tenderloin, pork chops, pulled pork, baked ham, pork sausage, pork bacon, it's all wonderful. you can make it a million ways and it always comes out flavorful. for big family holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, I always make both a turkey and a ham. everyone in the fam prefers one or the other but I like both.

you can't really rank them directly imo because all of them have specific uses in dishes that the others can't substitute

ribeye steak is great, can't make that from pork or chicken
smoked baby back ribs are awesome, can't make that from beef or chicken
grilled chicken wings and legs are super good, can't make that from pork or beef

I just don't know what to cook with ground beef
various kebabs
cevapcici
meatballs
meat loaf
eat it raw on bread (only do this if you can get it fresh from a trustworthy high quality butcher)

beef and pork both have ther ideal ways of preparing.
chicken isnt even meat and only for females and people on drugs.

I could not have said it better.

I eat more chicken and pork because they are cheap and versatile. I don't like the feeling to be ass raped when I shop. And when I want to indulge I'll go towards cuts of beef I like. I hear it's also not healthy to eat too often, so it falls right with me. (Ironical but you take what you can get).

I also love lamb, pigeon and duck or wild game overall.

But most of all, I love fish and sea food. This is one of the reason I don't understand the UK. These motherfuckers live on a fucking island and all they know is fish and chips, tilapia and salmon.

Pork is the trickiest to cook of those 3 and IMHO doesn't really come close to nor beef nor chicken in flavor, unless we're talking Iberico ham or similar cured version that is an even bigger bitch to prep.

Personally tired of just beef after eating it for so long, so gamey red meat for me any day over beef.

Dark chicken meat is superior and I will forever relish in these cuts being the cheapest and there's plenty to make with em bone and all.

Fish is superior, but also more expensive and I wouldn't even bother if you don't live close enough to major rivers or oceans. If you have fishy smell - 9/10 times it's way past due.

Tiers work better imo, we'll exclude fish for argument's sake:

Tier 1: Beef, Lamb
Tier 2: Chicken, Pork
Tier 3: Duck, Turkey
Tier 4: Game meat

Beef is just beef, stands alone really for satiety and upside and consistency. Lamb is more variable but highest upside. The Greeks know lamb, so just follow their recipes. Rest of meats eh, upsides and downsides but game meat just doesn't appeal to me personally. Venison can be tolerable in jerky but why would I eat that when beef exists?

While all three are tasty, beef is the undisputed king of ingredients. I also prefer pork than chicken due to chicken only shining when seasoned heavily or fried.

I don't eat beef or pork. Beef tastes weird to me and sits on my stomach. There's something off about eating pork. It just seems wrong. It also smells bad. Although ham smells revolting to me. I don't know how people can stand it. I mainly eat poultry and fish.
