> Be master caster.
> Slave away in the eternally tacky hellscape that is a resins shop. You can smell the solvents that will devour some brain cells.
> Get the opportunity to make a masterpiece to show off your skill with an extremely popular character/line.
> Time is rushed, a measurement is unclear, confident in your mastery you ship it.
> Marketing sends you an advanced catalog to see your work.
> You gave the bitch a giraffe neck.

I heard some fashion dolls like Barbie have longer necks so it doesn't look weird when they wear layers of clothes. Because even though the outfits are tiny the fabric is still the same thickness regardless of if it's on a full size human or a doll, so the neck has to be longer than average to compensate so the clothes don't make it look like the doll has no neck. I'm pretty sure this neck is freakishly long though lmao

Kiwi sisters i want to get back into BJD's i had a small one years ago. Everything's changed except DD being fucking expensive. Is it worth just building it myself or trying the pre owned/ assembled route. I'm not into the 1/6 scale i want more of an adult female look.

The bit of research i did there was also some anthropomorphic styles of BJD but not furry i was looking but couldn't find the brand i really liked. Appreciate any recommendations or advice, also heading to Nip Land soon so i was hoping to tee it up with potentially purchasing there.

If you want a doll with a decent face in Japan you could go for an A-Zone Obitsu doll that should come with a prepainted face, clothes, etc. You could also make an appointment for Dollfie Dream Choice Selection where the people in Akiba's Dollpoint will put together a doll for you assuming that you want something assembled for you. The A-Zone store and Doll Point are in the same building in Akiba, but I recall that there is also another A-Zone store in Ikebukuro. You can always yahoo auction or etsy a pre-painted doll face and put that on a smart doll, obitsu, or DD body.

Anyone know anything about AelithArt, the creator of Kabbit 3d printed dolls? She’s a pooner so there’s got to something juicy there. I did look around a bit but I couldn’t really find anything in a general search and I don’t do social media.
I really like the look of the dolls she designs but I don’t want to pay at minimum $35 for a digital stl that I would still have to get someone to actually print it out. Plus, I really don’t want to give any money to a pooner, especially one whose avatar is a buff bunny with top surgery scars.

I've been thinking about getting back into BJD/Azone dolls collecting, yet I think I came back at the worst time. During thr pandemic I've noticed (and still do) that the Japanese Yen to Dollar coversion lowered, meaning a lot of dolls on sites such as AmiAmi was reduced significantly, which was a perfect time for me to buy my most wanted doll 'Nina'. Shes from the Ex Cute Family like I think.

Needless to say, I heavily regret not buying her 6-7 years ago when she was only 90 bucks on AmiAmi. Now she's nowhere to be found (unless you buy her for 500+ on ebay) and I have to just wait until I can buy her pre owned at a rrasonable price, but never again can I find it at $90 anytime soon or ever.

Picked up one of those 'Sugary Girls' mystery BJDs, they're super cute but the pin that holds the apron in place fell off :( Thankfully managed to stitch the pin back in place so it's all good :)

Última edición:
I remember a few months ago being obsessed with wanting a Kikipop doll. I've never had a BJD in my life, but I feel like just one would be cute to have. I've seen a couple sellers on Ali selling knockoffs at reasonable pricing, but they don't come with the long eyes the originals have. I think I may have to get one for my birthday when it comes around.
