They are, they're 1/5th scale tho which is weird. I think they predate BJDs proper as well since the Sakura Wars dolls came out in the 90s/early 00s.Those look more like fashion dolls than BJDs.
Because these images are from 1998 when the first two games in that series were fairly recent. There are still plenty of fashion dolls being made of currently popular anime/game characters. Can someone explain to me why Dolls are so proeminent with Sakura Taisen of all things?Ver archivo adjunto 3145067

I heard some fashion dolls like Barbie have longer necks so it doesn't look weird when they wear layers of clothes. Because even though the outfits are tiny the fabric is still the same thickness regardless of if it's on a full size human or a doll, so the neck has to be longer than average to compensate so the clothes don't make it look like the doll has no neck. I'm pretty sure this neck is freakishly long though lmao> Be master caster.
> Slave away in the eternally tacky hellscape that is a resins shop. You can smell the solvents that will devour some brain cells.
> Get the opportunity to make a masterpiece to show off your skill with an extremely popular character/line.
> Time is rushed, a measurement is unclear, confident in your mastery you ship it.
> Marketing sends you an advanced catalog to see your work.
> You gave the bitch a giraffe neck.

Someone in Japan was contemplating sudoku when this came out.
These old dolls are very soulful. I'm glad that Volks still makes new dolls based on Utena, Macross, etc. I'm not sure if Sakura Taisen will get much love again after they bungled the gacha game. Can someone explain to me why Dolls are so proeminent with Sakura Taisen of all things?Ver archivo adjunto 3145067

If you want a doll with a decent face in Japan you could go for an A-Zone Obitsu doll that should come with a prepainted face, clothes, etc. You could also make an appointment for Dollfie Dream Choice Selection where the people in Akiba's Dollpoint will put together a doll for you assuming that you want something assembled for you. The A-Zone store and Doll Point are in the same building in Akiba, but I recall that there is also another A-Zone store in Ikebukuro. You can always yahoo auction or etsy a pre-painted doll face and put that on a smart doll, obitsu, or DD body.Kiwi sisters i want to get back into BJD's i had a small one years ago. Everything's changed except DD being fucking expensive. Is it worth just building it myself or trying the pre owned/ assembled route. I'm not into the 1/6 scale i want more of an adult female look.
The bit of research i did there was also some anthropomorphic styles of BJD but not furry i was looking but couldn't find the brand i really liked. Appreciate any recommendations or advice, also heading to Nip Land soon so i was hoping to tee it up with potentially purchasing there.
