Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

That's what I read, yeah; I'm just taking a look at the different classes, seeing what options that are available. I was going to be taking a suggestion from another thread and running a sort of solo "Inquisitor" character, eliminating some of the more dislikable characters in the game - i.e., troons. Most likely going to have to be either getting into combat a lot, or relying on stealth a lot... especially since I'm planning on trying to run Lone Wolf with no companions as much as possible.

Yes, I do intend to run a good/with companions campaign at least once; I just really want to make a solo character that just says "fuck it" and goes on a one-person rampage.

For that though, I need to actually figure out a character to run, and the primary issue with that is what class/subclass to use. I brought up the earlier class - Oathbreaker, Necromancer, Ranger, Monk, Rogue - as I've heard that all of them tend to be pretty good for rampaging solos, but I'm still stuck on what to actually use. I was thinking about running Oathbreaker - heavy armor, powerful dark magic, and a greatsword sounds right up my alley - but I'm going to save it as my last resort option, as I really want to see what other options are available.

For starters, is it better to go in guns blazing, or try and relying on stealth/ambush tactics? Which classes are good for each? Which classes can get the job done the best?

Also, race: I was planning on running a Dragonborn character, but I'm not sure on the breath weapon/ancestry. I was thinking either fire, poison, or acid, but which one do you guys think is best?
If you aim for stealth, Duergar gets free out-of-combat Invisibility as a class action at lvl 5. Essentially you can sneak around as much as you like/try as much as you like without having to worry about spending potions/spell slots/scrolls.

Well, that's sort of the issue; I don't know if I'll be running stealth. As I mentioned, I'm going to be going solo as much as possible while going after troons and other characters, and I don't know if stealth or loud is better/more entertaining; I am leaning more towards going loud, but as I don't have the game as of yet I can't exactly start testing out different builds. Anyone got any opinions for one or the other? Which is better overall?

It's easier for some than others. Thieves get two bonus actions which makes hit-and-runs easier. If you're not abusing Stealth, you'll probably be in for a rough time unless you're stacking healing pots.

So, stealth is the better option for solo; good to know at the very least. From what I can tell, it seems that Monk, Rogue, Ranger, Bard, and I think Druid all have some stealth capabilities; not exactly the best at or most fond of stealth, but I'll give it a shot regardless. Any other things you guys feel like mentioning?

There’s a somewhat playable epilogue coming with Patch 5.

Pooner's gate. Why the actual fuck would you have pooner scars? Just magic the tits away, why would these magical, at best steampunk level people got plastic surgery scars?
Know what's funny? In established Baldur's Gate lore there's already at least one magical way to change gender. These troony morons wouldn't know that though because BG3 is their first Forgotten Realms game.

So far the patches are good. They do fix the shit players want fixed.

And yeah, I figured if you can turn into a sheep you can turn into a heckin' valid dood. Propably easier than to get a surgeon good enough to do the tiddy yeety. Troons are so stupid. I still want a spell that summons the most horrifying of familiar, the Tooblets.

You can also force Trickery Cleric, Warlock, and Wizard/Sorc into that round hole if you want, pretty much every class other that fighter and barbarian has something for it.

The timing on this part was hilarious!

Mystra turned Elminster into a woman at some point too.

I miss my OP dual-crossbows, though.

Increasing your Sleight of Hand skill makes picking pockets that much easier. Picking pockets means you really don't have to buy anything because you can just steal everything.

Popper appreciation post. I love this little guy.

I miss Deekin. A kobold as a companion would have been awesome.

Patch 5 is out: Patch 5 Steam Post , Deep Dive Post

Main Highlights
  • Epilogue: An entirely new section at the end of the game after the defeat of the that aims to provide a well-deserved sense of closure with your allies.
  • Two new play modes: Honour Mode and Custom Mode.
  • Many performance improvements, particularly in Act III.
  • Added dynamic resolution for PS5.
  • Players playing on machines with low VRAM/RAM should see improved performance.
  • While at camp, you can now access and manage the inventories of companions who aren't in your active party.
  • Added a brand new fight in Ramazith’s Tower
  • Orin’s outfit now drops as loot and is wearable by anyone. We also gave it a suitably disgusting description and name.
Interested to try the Honor mode. The Tactician playthrough I'm doing is a bit difficult, but with (mostly) optimized builds it's still pretty easy if you are prepared.

Also beating Honor mode gets you Golden Die to roll. It also gives bosses new attacks

EDIT: oh, this is gonna get people talking.

Oh my. Minty will be knockoutable?

That's kinda nice, if she gets a custom voiceline for it.

Also, I love how new patches actually address player issues/requests instead of adding fucking dlc skins for 40 bucks.

It has become strange not to regret buying a game instead of torrents. Wish bodytype shit would be at least feminine/masculine and athletic variants. Remembering which number is which is a chore.
