Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

I’ve got a general question.

I know Act 3 is the most unrefined part of the game as still has some bugs here and there. Since I just stepped into Rivington(all I really did was give some kid with a missing mom some money), would it be better to start a new game/playstyle and wait a bit for maybe the next patch to go back, or is Act 3 fixed of the more major issues?

They've patched a lot of shit since the game's release. There's still a lot that needs fixing, but you're not experiencing the same game that came out 2 month's ago.

Man, that trader in Rivington has some pretty good shit, including if you get him to show you his “exclusive” items. Just don’t go talk to him if SH is in your party. Not at first, at least.

Oh, and be sure to get him to agree to show you the exclusive items before you buy from him. I had a glitch where I bought from him before knowing about the exclusive stuff, and even though he agreed to sell them to me, they didn’t actually pop up.

Once again, the fandom of something I enjoy is making me roll my eyes hard enough to get a headache. Partially my own fault because I look at tumblr sometimes.

A character disassociates during a sexytimes moment? "Oh they're so damaged! It's just like me!" Bish calm down he's probably just bored after years of a customer service job. Happens to the best of us.

Well, after having a shouting match with a dijiin at a wheel over cheating and rerolling Bard Astarion so he can use a particular Jackpot, I am very glad we went to the circus lol.

I've been watching some of the EA stuff recently. I didn't get into EA at all and was pretty much blind to a lot of what went into this game before its release.

There is still a TON of stuff they cut from the game. Something I noticed when playing as Wyll is that the voice actor must have changed somewhere along the way or he changed the way he speaks. When you click on the character and tell him to move around, his voice is different from the one that you talk to in dialogue.

Here's an example of EA Wyll. Notice how he sounds completely different from the final release:

@PaladinBoo How much of EA was cut from the final product? Watching some of the EA stuff makes it look like Mizora was Wyll's gf at one point, but somewhere along the way the devs turned her into a demon mistress. Wyll also seemed to know a lot of the goblins too. There's just so much that they either changed or completely removed. So many campfire interactions, dialogues, etc.

A lot of the early access stuff was cut. One was "Daisy" which was the Dream Guardian but instead of it being the Emperor it was the Mind Flayer tadpole trying to seduce the player into accepting ceremorphosis. The song "Down by the River" was meant to be a reference to Daisy with her seducing you and your mind being "down by the river" with her forever as your body gives into ceremorphosis.

This I did know. I saw that long steam post about how they cut the upper city, they cut Avernus, and supposedly Ommeluum's ring was supposed to cut off your tadpole influence. Supposedly there were consequences for even using the tadpole, but the game doesn't even inflict that on you despite what the dialogue keeps telling you. I cannot believe there's absolutely no downsides to using the powers or becoming half ilithid.

1. Wyll was racist against goblins
2. Actual plot wasn't god elder brain but magic tadpoles desperate to subsume you. Not for elder flayer reasons. Just subsume you. Netheres magic still involved though. Also more power used = bad
3. Femminsc gone
4. Astarion was somehow the most sensible of the group. He was not changed. At all.
5. Gale was more allistair from dragon age and less soyjack incel suffering oneitis cuz god pussy.

Wyll was kind of a chump in EA because his whole plot was just a revenge thing against the goblins. He wasn't heroic or likeable, they changed him a lot, for the better. Someone must have told these Swedes or whatever that making the Black guy not just enslaved but also unable to think about anything but his street beef wasn't great characterization.

I forgot until going through this game that when I ran Descent into Avernus for some friends, one of the recurring jokes was "Duke Uldar Ravengard, who apparently was Black this whole time..." because there was a huge laugh when I pulled up the image from the module. It was like hearing all about Rajesh Submaranian for weeks, then when you meet him he's an Irish redheaded dude.

The only real issue I have with the game is missing out on particular plot stuff for characters. I know it still happens if they’re not in your party or not, but I want to be sure I talk to the character tied to a character’s storyline with that member in the party.

Astarion’s reaction to Dribbles was A+.

Why in the fuck is Bard so good at stealing shit? I have Astarion currently as a Thief and he fails to steal shit consistently but my Bard is able to pick vendors pockets clean with no issue. It feels so fucked up but it's so funny.

You know turn-based RPGs limit this shit to 4 characters because they know controlling 8 people at a time is going to be boring as hell.

I actually have seen mods to use all the companions at once. But yeah, while I don’t think it would be boring personally, I can see how long and complicated it could make it with more pieces on the board, so to speak.

Also would make battles way too easy.
