Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

It felt really nice to play as Drow and committing Total Goblin Death and Total Creche Death.
Got a nice loot too.
My PC is a human but I like when you go to the monastery and I think it's the female githyanki administrator that tells you she heard how you're the grim reaper for the goblins, something like that. Then I killed all of them too.

I don't even think it's possible to do thr Creche stuff without inevitably killing everyone there. Even if you do exactly what you're told, Vlakkith still screws you over.

Yeah I reloaded a bunch and tried to see all the different outcomes at that part. There's even an instant game over if you insult Vlakkith and tell her you won't do what she asked. She "wishes" you to death. You have to kill the Inquisitor and his goons, and you have to kill or run past all the Githyanki between you and the checkpoint that allows you to fast travel out of there. But I went above and beyond and killed/looted every single living person in the monastery. The nice young Githyanki with the controversial reading material was already dead though. He died in the duel. He doesn't have to die though. He can live if you intervene when you first walk in the training room, but I did not.

I wonder what happens if you just go in, guns blazing. Is Vlaakith gonna be like, "I'm angry at y'all for killin' mah peeps. But now y'all gotta behave..." ?

It's hilarious to me how easy it was to obtain this sword considering a good chunk of Neverwinter Nights 2 is dedicated to the Githyanki dispatching hordes of soldiers intent on reclaiming one of them.
I'm not considering how commonly the Gith Sword of Githyanki itself shows up in the hands of some random hero. That hack and slash game had you get your hands on it, in Mask of the Betrayer the guy who attacked the Gods themselves had it, and you've got a shard of it stuck in your chest during the main game thanks to someone blowing it up...

based on their culture, if they died it's basically a skill issue.
I think Lae'zel killed a bunch of students when she was in her creche.

If you Speak to Dead that Gith Commander that’s in the same room you talk to Vlaakith, he implies he was essentially there to be a “sacrifice” or a “test” of you capabilities. So I don’t think she’d care too much since she only wants the strongest Gith to consume and try and reach godhood.

They really are an entire civilization of jerks. For any player holding out a tiny bit of hope that they may still help you with your brain worm, the game completely obliterates that thought once you meet their giant headed, skeleton faced, undead queen lady.

The Mind Flayer you meet in the Underdark was unironically more helpful and friendly.

And the monk-brain in a jar alternative sect Gith is only willing to help because their pride has been eroded after centuries of being alive and aware as nothing but a brain.

One of the inquisitor's party drops a scroll of seeming, allowing your entire party to disguise themselves and walk out.

I'll admit, I haven't experimented with Disguise spells except to talk with corpses I've killed. I've heard you can fool the guards with it if you're committing crimes, but I never tested that.

I do know that Dror Ragslin will still be able to identify you regardless.

After dealing with some more shoving bullshit (it's obscene how far some of those fuckers can push you), I managed to kill Balthazar. Guardian of Faith + Halsin's dryad and wood woad really came in handy dealing with the mooks.

Also good lord I love Astarion so much, the utterly sardonic line delivery when you ask him if he's been thinking about Cazador's ritual made me snort with laughter.

There's a particularly well written part in Act III when you finally arrive at Baldur's Gate. Minthara will comment about the refugees trying to get in the city and she gets somewhat political. She suggests the refugees be used for labor. At first I was thinking this was the start some kind of social commentary the devs stuck in the game, but...

They give you the option to respond with something along the lines of, "We could use the refugees as a source of food."

Now, I took this option and totally thought Minthara was going to react poorly to it. However, she fucking thinks about it for a moment and then says, "The weak and the elderly, maybe." without losing a beat. I nearly fell off my chair.

I mentioned this earlier, but doing a Lae'zel origin gives you a bunch of options for "inspiring" the Tiefling children and none of the options will inspire them. Almost everything Lae'zel says is about how she conquered some otherworldy monster, killed a fellow Githyanki sibling, or did something heinous in order to please Vlaakith. All hilarious and in character.

I also enjoy some of the "talk your way out of it" options you're given if guards confront you:

So I got to the part with the lesbians in the camp everyone was talking about, and while I can see how it would be a bit much for some people, I also think you were exaggerating on how bad it was. The joke with Nightsong seems to be “quasi-god walking around trying to act like a regular human” in her way of speaking, which obviously isn’t going to work for you if you find it annoying.

You can say they’re being too “in your face” about being together, but considering what they went through up until the point that you helped them, I can understand why they’d act like that.

Still, I can see why it’s be annoying to listen to. It’s a sorta secondhand embarrassment sort of thing at times.

Ever notice the Orthon's "bed" looks like a face? Yeah, you can use Speak with the Dead on it too.

Also, this is how I dealt with Balthazar:

The Runepowder barrel is the same one from the Grymforge. I snuck up and killed the gnome guarding it and couldn't think of a better target. That being said, the Golem (miraculously) survived the blast.

Dream Walker/“The Emperor” Mind Flayer: “Don’t look at me like that.”

That got a pretty good laugh out of me not gonna lie. Especially since the mind Flayer managed to have a quirked eyebrow as it said it.

I’m also happy to know I was right about what was in the Prism, just not quite the way I thought it was.

I’ve got a general question.

I know Act 3 is the most unrefined part of the game as still has some bugs here and there. Since I just stepped into Rivington(all I really did was give some kid with a missing mom some money), would it be better to start a new game/playstyle and wait a bit for maybe the next patch to go back, or is Act 3 fixed of the more major issues?

I’ve completed Act 3 with three different play throughs with no issues. Go for it.
