I'm back in this nigger thread, but I have some 20-30 pages to catch up, so I'll just post my impression of the game in the meantime.
I sunk roughly 250h into this game so far, but I didn't finish it yet, so please spoil Act 3 content. I decided to wait for some patches (that should drop this month apparently) before I get back to it.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed the game and I think it will be one of my all time favorites. There were glitches and small bugs here and there, but I never expected it to be without and Act 1 and Act 2 are fairly polished. It seems Act 3 still needs some work, but nothing game breaking, just annoying issues.
The game is pretty dark, especially Act 2, so the people fearing it might be DOS2 have nothing to worry about.
The game is very easy and I played on tactician. I didn't even put any effort and I don't think there was any challenge at all. Either I'm that good or they need to increase the difficulty even more.
I wish they didn't make the romance player-sexual. I was honestly freaked out by Gale's "let me show you a magic trick", then he started going full homo at me. I felt like a discord grooming victim.
The pozzed elements were pretty few and far, but some did stick out like a sore thumb, especially a camp follower if you're going the good path. Some part of me regretted not choosing to kill it, but I didn't like some other consequences.
Most companions grew on me. I found that Niggerman Blaster is quite likeable and is a solid bro. I found Astarion to be such a delightful cunt that I couldn't help chuckle at his takes in Act 2 and early Act 3. Shadowheart and Laezel, due to some choices, had the most growth as a person and I liked that. Karlach mostly was bubbly and a loveable retard. Gale was a discord fag and never left the camp. I didn't care for Halsin or Jaheira, so I don' t have an opinion on them just yet.
The story is fine, it follows a somewhat standard fantasy heroic tale and there's nothing wrong with it. The nostalgia bait I could live without though.
The itemization and the builds they open, that I liked quite a lot. I was constantly coming up with builds and ideas.
So, to sum it up, I had a lot of fun. It had been some time since I truly had fun in a game and I almost forgot how that felt.
