If you do something that goes against your code / promises / oath, you can become an oathbreaker paladin which is pretty death/hell knight ish
May as well play Oathbreaker instead. It's retarded how easy it is to break the oath even when following it. Save the grotto to protect innocents? Oath broken. Save some random person from being mugged by armed bandits in Baldur's Gate? Oath broken. Protect someone's pet bunny from being eaten by a hellbeast in the shadow forest? Oath broken.

I just gave up on the oath and accepted being a hell knight. Better powers too and no downside to it. Can easily just buy your way back to heaven but its a waste of gold.

The twink makes the first impression by trying to slice your throat and, should you let this slide, attempts to drink your blood on the very next night. Has anyone NOT murdered him then and there? Companion plot armor aside, he is asking to be put six feet under.
it's a bit meta-gamey but i held off on killing Astarion once he told me he was being hunted down by his vampire slavemaster so i only kept him around with assumption that i would get to betray this Milo Yiannopoulos-looking fuck by selling him into Cazador's servitude at some point which i thought would be really funny.

its alright. its good but not the best either.

i would not pay full price for it. maybe for 30 bux if they fixed all the bugs.

If you like RPGs you're going to like it. It's not the best game I've ever played and it has some issues. (mostly with how boring the party members are) but overall it's fun.
Guess I'll check it out for free once a repack is available. Thanks.

Is this game good? Apparently a lot of people bought it, but many people buy call of duty each year too.
Consider the following.

So, I finished it. My thoughts
  1. 12 level is extremely limiting. It should have been higher. At least 15. All balance screeching faggots can suck on a big one
  2. 17000 different ending were 17000 ways to do things in game. Take of it what you will
  3. No ending slides is a bummer
  4. Lae'zel happened to be much better than I expected. Yes, romance
  5. Shar followers fight was unfair. There are plenty of those in act 3. Which can be fixed by increasing level cap
  6. While game IS overhyped, I enjoyed it. I will get another go

What? No mandatory bear sex as some imply? Damn. 0/10.

I don't play many RPGs but friends of mine kept recommending this one so I picked it up and it's pretty good so far.

Thoughts:

* There's a bunch of nice little touches that probably come from it having been in EA for a while and seeing how people could mess with the game's systems. Things like I had someone shoot a fire arrow at the Spider Queen, which missed her but hit her web so it burned up and she fell on her ass. Also there's some gnome chick who tries to suicide bomb you (presumably on behalf of gnome Allah), but if you sneakily move her explosives, the cutscene changes to reflect her being bummed out by you getting the advantage.

* The game feels like it's designed for you to be an asshole. If you're good, it's basically "do job, get paid" but if you're a dick there's ton of ways to troll the NPCs and make their lives hell.

* The companions are all terminally horny. The autistic elf girl who keeps stimming with her magic dreidel appears to be most popular. I kept abusing the rapefugees though so the frog chick started sexually harassing me.

* The goblins are great and just seem to love being unrepentantly evil, so I can see why 1/3 of people side with them over the bitchy druids and whiny rapefugees.

* I picked Warlock as my class because of novelty and it owns. You get little devil pets and can turn the tide of most fights just by blasting enemies off cliffs.

Overall, so far I'd rank it on par with the last RPG I played which was Pathfinder: Kingmaker. That game had better companions and more choices, but the combat was not great and the last chapter was absolute AIDS.

I just started Act II and I agree with #4. Especially after
the camp fight scene w/her.

I didn't murder him but I think he's more meant for an evil main character's party. He's annoyed whenever you do something nice. His relationship with my character is fair, only because he likes it whenever you trick someone. I still have all the original characters with me. I didn't want to murder any, but I did get annoyed at Laezel today, cuz of the events that happen when you go to her people's creche. She's a stubborn retard, but I guess it fits her race to be that way.

I like it a lot. I think the fights are excellent. I also like that there's a lot of weird shit you can do to accomplish your goals, or just for the hell of it. I also really like the way some of the NPC's look. The goblins look great, and the old lady who turns into the hag, too.

That entire part with the goblins is great. There's so much going on there that I reloaded an old save and just experimented with all the choices. If you haven't tried it, find the back way into the spider's pit, or just feather fall down there and talk to them. There's a funny little interaction that doesn't make the whole place turn hostile.

After game is finished and some time has passed, I systemized my thoughts about it
It goes like that - stone cold warrior with a heart of ice melts after being exposed to genuine affection.
Act 1:
Assuming that you didn't killed her in cage and have met other gith on northern part of the map, it opens her affection bar. And if it high enough, there will be a sex scene, where you can have your first check of intimidation, saying that you will be in charge. Suffice to say, she will like it.
After you visit kreshe and she volunteers into purification device, you can convince her that there's no cure and this device is euthanasia machine/mind sucker and something rotten in gith kingdom. After it, when you venture inside of the artifact, there will be a fight, where you can further tell her that queen wants her death. After it, her tone in dialogues with you changes. Later in camp she confesses to your character is barged into her thoughts and she can't think of anyone else. That's it for act 1
Act 2:
During one of the long rests, there will be a dialogue, where she challenges you to a fight. Because she knows nothing else and gone crazy with emotions. If you win, she confesses to you. Later, you can have a skill check, that opens an option to kiss her. At first she doesn't understand why to do it. If you pass, it goes to act 3
Act 3:
She just confesses her love to main character. Point being, that she was battling for githyanki her whole life, but main character showed her that there's more in life than fighting. No end slideshow of happy ending. But it's on Larian

I take everything back I said about Lae'zel. In fact she maybe /ourgirl. If you play as a tiefling Lae'zel will pronounce tiefling wrong as teeth-ling. Your tiefling character can correct her by saying; "It's pronounced tiefling with an f." and she just rolls her eyes at you like who cares. I can only imagine how outrage RetardEra will be at the imaginary racism from the racist lizard lady.

@There Is Light At The End
After you visit kreshe and she volunteers into purification device, you can convince her that there's no cure and this device is euthanasia machine/mind sucker and something rotten in gith kingdom.
If you let her stay in the machine, it will explode and she get's -2 to three different stats. Do you know if that ever goes away or is it permanent? I just did that part and I'm wondering if I should reload and keep her out of that bug machine, if it's a permanent loss. I'm not too far after that, I don't mind fighting the inquisitor again.

so when should i backtrack to the mountain pass before i enter moon tower? i just killed Nere.
Any time before actually entering the Moon Tower. Entering it marks the start of Act II and (iirc) you can't go back to the previous act's areas.
