Jason makes the observation that Act III is buggy as fuck, deletes tweet afterwards (presumably because people gave him shit for not blowing his load about how Larian saved gaming or something).

Yo I have a quick question:

I just jumped down into the Underdark from the spider cave. What's the easiest way for me to get back up and do the Druid stuff? Should I just reload my last save and go down there after dealing with the druid/goblin quests?
you can do that? i remember knocking down the big spider down a hole, killing it instantly. wonder if its body is still down there.

Any day that Jewson gets shat on is a good day

Yeah Wyll made a comment about something being down the hole so I used feather fall to jump down and check it out.

I had silent hopes during the alpha that they were keeping the good(both quality and alignment wise) party members for later.

I am sad to see the cast we get really is all there is. Fucking women and soyboy writers, man.

I'm really enjoying the game, just started Act 2 but does anybody here still recommend the first 2 games? Like, have they aged well? I'm the type of person who tried Fallout 1 and gave up after 20 minutes because I didn't feel like figuring out how to actually play the game so is it a lot simpler than that? lol

tbh it's probably not for you if FO1 wasn't accessible enough. BG1+2 are based on 2nd Edition D&D which was (especially towards the end of its life) bloated, over-complex and had a cliff-like learning curve. If I hadn't already played a load of 2e tabletop before I played the BG games I would have had a real problem understanding what the fuck I was supposed to be doing.

It's something that I do reinstall and play again every now and then (especially the second game, the first has a better plot and characters but your staying alive early game is so dependent on brutal RNG that it's really aggravating), but each time I do I get less and less far in before I get bored and lose interest. The interface is clunky and the pace is slow, you're heavily railroaded towards Good alignments (playing Evil is basically a challenge run). It lacks a lot of accessibility and quality of life features.

If you like BG3 you might want to try Divinity: Original Sin 2 by the same devs in the same engine, just not using the D&D ruleset.

Finally got a chance to play. Did anybody else have an issue with that "cracked support beam" or whatever it's called with the ogre fight? I smacked it and it didn't do anything but piss them off. Honestly the fight ended up pretty funny, I had the smart one just continuously down the same party member while another kept reviving them, and the other two party members just plinked away at him. Seems pretty fun so far, but the difficulty of the encounters feels all over the place sometimes (the harpy one was fucking brutal for some reason.)

Wouldn't people getting salty at him prove his point? I don't get why he'd delete it other than being a bitch.

It is kindof dumb to praise the game as "a shining example of the success that comes when you release a game that's actually finished!" when it's blatantly not finished, just the clout-chasers haven't gotten to the classic Larian-End-of-Game-Void area yet. But we live in an era of retards shepherding bigger retards, so par for the course.

The harpies all have a height advantage if everyone is down in the water, making them generally harder to hit. They're also one of the first enemies with multi-attack, I think. You somewhat have to cheese that by getting characters set up on the cliffs ahead of time.

It's kind of the way of things, though. There's a fight at the end of Act 1 where if you make certain dialogue choices, every enemy in the surrounding area is suddenly all on top of your ass and the fight is fucking impossible. Manually go through and fight all of the enemies on your own, though, and suddenly they filter in one after the other to wherever you're holed up, rather than all being on your ass, and it's ten-thousand times more manageable. There are lots of ambushes that, if you just savescum, are way easier if you know they're there.

You probably already figured it out by now but you can fast travel back to the surface whenever you want.

Yes I love BG1 and 2 and I actually just beat BG2 like maybe two weeks ago now. They're really fun the combat is real time with a pause so it goes a lot quicker then Fallout does. All you really need to do to beat most enemies is to have you fighters hit them with a sword while your thieves and magic users spam arrows and magic missile/other offence spells it isn't too hard. If you really don't like the combat if you can get to a high enough level you can just summon a Platnar or a ton of skeletons and they can just do all the fighting for you however the Platnar is something you only really get near the end of the game.

Yes, they're far better written than this one. Gameplay is obviously dated and autistic, I'm sure there are some mods out there to make it a little easier.

The Jew is right. However, I'll be keeping my distance with some popcorn, waiting for everyone to shit on it.

So is everything in this game about sex?
No. The companions come on to you too soon and too readily and at times the game doesn't make it nearly clear enough what it considers flirting (what I would consider just being a bro is often taken as being attracted to a dude by the game which has been annoying) but that's the only real issue with it. The people squealing about having gross fetishes shoved down their throats are just trying to outrage bait.

so the adventure into the monastery went well

Kill Githyankis. Behead Githyankis. Roundhouse kick a Githyankis into the concrete. Slam dunk a Lizard-cold blood into the trashcan. Crucify filthy Githyankis. Defecate in a scales food. Launch Githyankis into the sun. Stir fry Githyankis in a wok. Toss Githyankis into active volcanoes. Urinate into a Githyankis gas tank. Judo throw Githyankis into a wood chipper. Twist Githyankis’ heads off. Report Githyankis to the town guard. Karate chop Githyankis in half. Curb stomp pregnant non-human Githyanki. Trap Githyankis in quicksand. Crush Githyankis in the trash compactor. Liquefy Githyankis in a vat of acid. Eat Githyankis children. Dissect Githyankis, Exterminate Githyankis in the gas chamber. Stomp Githyankis skulls with steel toed boots. Cremate Githyankis in the oven. Lobotomize Githyankis. Mandatory abortions for Githyankis. Grind scaly fetuses in the garbage disposal. Drown Githyankis in fried squid grease. Vaporize Githyankis with anti-matter. Kick old Githyankis down the stairs. Feed Githyankis to Mind Flayers. Slice Githyankis with a greatsword.

ironic, the head of the base gave me a high five for brining TGD. bet he never saw THAT coming

somehow mind broke Lezal and made her believe killing her people is somehow her queens will. she went from having the lowest approval rating into the highest in less then an hour. crazy bitch

Última edición:
Not sure where all the supposed bugs in Act 3 are because I'm not seeing them myself.
some of the bugs i've encountered in Act III are because of bugs/oversights in Act II, for example if you forget to talk to Nightsong and Isobel at the end of Act II they'll disappear from the game and soft lock several quests in Act III (including Shadowheart's companion quest), this is because they're supposed to join your camp after the Ketheric fight but the game doesn't account for you not recruiting them and still had journal entries telling me to go talk to them to advance these quests.
