Larian relased some stats from the first week:

Paladin chads number 1.
Elf fags barely wining over humans.
A lot more evil playthroughs than I expected.
A bunch of meaningless stupid numbers about quantity.
And for no one's surprise, there is no mention of "body type", nor gender chosen. I wonder why.
I might be unpopular (objectively given the stats), but Monk has actually been a genuinely fun class in this game. I picked Paladin in my first play through, but Monk I found I more clicked with especially open fist.

Larian relased some stats from the first week:
I'm surprised Gale is the most selected, the only reason I had him in the party was his hilarious voice acting, but you don't get that if you select him. Ditto for Asterion.
Surprised a third of people butchered the grove, I'm saving that for a future playthrough.

The three most picked classes are all high charisma, which makes sense in this Visual Novel/RPG hybrid.
Shadowheart makes sense. The female choices are Cute monster girl, hideous monster girl, atrocity-gated drow and normal and pleasant Shadowheart.
For the men, you get a torn hero, a brave bear of an elf, a flirtatious twink and a sensitive romantic. It's a shame they teased us with the Tiefling bard, giving her a beautiful song, and lots of bardic items around her, and "I wanna join you, I wanna fight by your side"
also fuck you the guy you're escorting got 0hkoed by a barrel exploding
You'll hate that one rescue mission in DoS2 where an accused warlock is about to be executed. He's surrounded by elite inquisitors, then swarmed by oil demons that leave unquenchable fire on death. Teleporting him off the gallows is probably the safest bet, but the AI just runs back into the firestorm.
(I managed to beat it by teleporting him to a place with all the exits sealed off.) But come on, that went far beyond the line separating challenging and masochistic.
Meanwhile, in BG3, everything is vulnerable to being shoved into a giant pit or having 6 explosive barrels thrown at them.
The drow paladin's first move was to punt Shadowheart into the
Not just that, you can actually skip straight to the underdark if you drink a potion of featherfall before jumping into the spider pit.

LMAO! From what I read Gale (not Astarion which shocked me) is the worst culprit of this. According to players befriending companions is really hard because for some reason they think being friendly means you want to fuck. Have a strong feeling that romance triggers will be modded out.

These people don't understand love or romance. All they understand is the human capacity to orgasm.
Funnily enough, my takeaway was that the devs got a lot of men right in that regard - be nice to a guy, maybe compliment his dancing (Wyll), and he'll usually jump to the conclusion that you want to fuck him. I reckon you can find a lot of women who have had that experience.

Idk why people like Shadowheart, though the 2 RL friends I play with like her too - to me she comes across as somewhat milquetoast and kinda dumb/naive. Karlach all the way.

Are you talking about the huge group in the undercity? You don't have to fight any of those guys. I just cast invisibility on one person and had them run past. There is a fast travel point right before the temple you can use to get the rest of the party there.
The vault can bug out and infinitely spawn cultists for some reason.
Which then meant i had to go somewhere to resupply, leading to ANOTHER ambush at the park.
And then dolor was somewhere else, and then MORE cultists popped up for some reason.

That is why I like how romances were handle in Wrath of the Righteous. It is leagues better then Baldur's Gate 3. In order to trigger a romance plotline in that game you had to ask a romancable companion if they were interested in a relationship and the romance questline would proceed from there. You can go through the whole game without triggering a romance plot and just be friends with your companions. Here you try to be friends with a companion and they instantly want to fuck you. I half expected your OC character to tell their companions the same line that Commander Shepherd tells Jack in Mass Effect 2 which is: "We'll bang, okay."

I tried that, and my character had a three or four characters being butthurt and arguing over who gets the flowers in WOTR.

Gale does seem a bit of an egomanic and doesn't like being not chosen. Which does come off as butthurt but also could be him being "yeah all my ideas are genious ideas" .

Eh my biggest gripe so far is the cumbersome party management and some quests being obtuse, as in you have no idea what you need to do first. Which quests go in which order, and all that.

I seem to be in the minority but I liked act 2 the most. It felt concise. The map wasn't needlessly gigantic with dozens of NPCs who may or may not be relevant to anything, 100 smaller areas that may or may not have anything of interest or be tied to anything, nor a ton of little interactable things that may or may not do anything. You had one clear goal - defeat Ketheric Thorm - and nearly everything ties into that some way.

Act 1 felt like a grab bag of random ideas that the developers thought were cool and what I've played of act 3 was just boring.

The fact that Shadowheart is the most romanced is all you need to know.
The fact that half-elves and humans are the most chosen race also tells you all you need to know too. Humans are of course the go to race for guys but I know of guys that like to play as elves because they find them attractive and they usually play as a hot lesbian elf. The Neverwinter MMO is full of female elves (In fact the majority of players play as elves) and most of the people who play them are men. As much as WotC and Larian tried the majority of people playing this game are men. I bet the male players outnumber the females 10 to 1.

I went with the half-elf because of the better male heads. The only good white guy head for a human still looks like a 40 year old Walmart cashier.

Our multiplayer playthrough ended today after me friends fucked around in the goblin camp for an hour, went "fuck, this is boring" and buggered off to play Dark and Darker, most likely never to come back.

Needn't have worried about the bear, we never even found him. Lol.
This is why they really should have leaned more into the singleplayer experience and removed asinine shit like dice rolls in dialogue options. They clearly never took notes on how bioware improved its gameplay over the years up to Dragon Age Origins and were just cashing in on brand recognition.

Kotor is still the gold standard on how to do dialogue in RPG's correctly. Because your character stats and choices matter more than silly dice rolls when selecting various options, which were saved exclusively for combat based off the current D&D edition at the time. 4e IIRC.

This is exactly why I like RtWP, the AI for your companions means you can just leave them the fuck alone.
The AI mod for bg3 (there's one btw) for your companions is sorta okay but it's just normal AI applied to your characters so god knows what theyll do. Like they yeet the hag off a cliff for example, wee needed her alive for some good old fashioned grimming. But I can't unchild a splorch on the floor.

That actually sounds really lame and was one of the criticisms of the Final Fantasy XII gambit system
"Hurr, the game plays itself"

Even in games with RTwP such as DA: Origins managing characters during combat was still useful. Hell, in the PF games I don't remember the companions doing everything in realtime mode.
