Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

Holy shit the swamp hag was a brutal fight. The bitch is practically unkillable unless you prep like a boyscout and get the drop on her on all your characters. Once she's in that cave, good fucking luck. Its nothing but duplicates of her which all cast paralysis spells, and i thought that Morrowind's scribs were bad...

Also, the nigger and the vampire both rejected Carlor's DragonCoque on celebration night (teethling rapefugees at your camp), for which they both paid dearly.
Needless to say I now have a niggerskin rug and a flamboyant twink throw for Lae'zel's and Shadowhearts' tents. Turns out you can have them both as far as act 1 is concerned, Very Naiss.

Now making plans on moving in on dikey demon mommy. Carlor WILL have his harem as a white dragon pureblood deserves...

I managed to hit her with a Silence spell from Shadowheart on my 2nd attempt, with my other 3 party members surrounding her and kicking her in the shins, which shut her down almost completely. All she could do was swipe and throw acid potions, which just hit herself. The first attempt was brutal, though, one of her opening moves was walking over to my PC and shoving him so hard he flew into the center chasm and instantly died. People weren't kidding when they talk about how gravity and pits are the most powerful weapons in this game.

Yeah I was going to try that approach but I have one spellcaster in my team. SH, and she didn't have that spell equipped for the battle.

For real though, pits and positioning yourself to shove/repulse/shockwave enemies into them are by far the easiest victories youll gain on enemies. Getting total Dark Messiah vibes ovah here.

That fight I silenced her, got her to the pit and shoved her in. Don't remember how.
Needless to say I reloaded quite a few times to make it work right.

Another boss fight I turned him into a sheep and then shoved the sheep off the platform.

I just did a place called the tollhouse. The boss can be shockwaved off the building before entering combat but survived my attempt. But it gave me enough time to take out all the other enemies before the boss got back up all the stairs. I should have pre-placed some grease or something to slow them down.

The Act three one is even more challenging as she resurrects if the self-healing mushrooms aren't taken out.

Yeah, that's how I killed Auntie Ethel; just shoved her into a chasm.

So what would people say is the most “optimal” class to cover things your party members don’t do by default? My oath of ancients pally seems reasonably capable early, but I’m alreqdy wondering what I’d want to do on a 2nd run.

I think I ended up exploring the ruins in the most “boring” way possible. I have like +6 to lockpicking that the “roll a 20 to unlock this door” was incredibly easy. Literal first try.

Can’t get through the “door with no lock or handle though, so I still have an excuse to go in through the chapel.

And yes, I am playing incredibly slow. Haven’t had a chance to play since Friday.

EDIT: I heard there was a bug involving the Mask of the Shapeshifter. Did it get patched yet or do I need to not use it at all?

This fight was actually pretty easy for me. If I remember correctly I just had Gale use a Magic Missile on each of the hags, which would give away the real one.

Bard is pretty much an ideal skill monkey

Mask of the shapeshifter set on masc halfelf turns the portrait into this shit. Had me and my friends dying of laughter with how out of place it looks on the roster bar.

Think I might wait a bit to grab the game on my end; it's 80$ for a digital-only copy on PS5, currently, and while the game certainly looks good, I'm a bit hesitant.
If you can play it on PC, it's better on PC, once you get tired of the base game you can add shit like mods and whatnot to change the gameplay.
You can also just pirate it first to see if it's your cup of tea, then wait to see if they actually add the cut shit in later or not.

If you're not chomping at the bit for it, I'd give it a couple months, maybe until the holidays, let them put out some patches and see how that develops. Or wait until next year for the possibility of a definitive/special/GOTY edition rerelease.

Speaking of, I noticed that the OS2 Definitive Edition now has "from the creators of Baldur's Gate 3" in its blurb, which is clever. Officially graduated from "the Divinity guys" to "the Baldur's Gate guys."

And if you're a Console Gamer(tm) like me. The controller support is fine on the PC version.

It's because Larian did the whole "NU UH MY MAGIC IS SUPER PLUS MEGA ULTRA GOOD NO SAVES" when you use magic like the hags, whether you're a monster or not - there's always a will save for the illusion and see invisibility will see invisibility.

Guess what Larian decided to ignore, for their OC donut steel hag?

I found the tranny. The whole thing went as you might expect - underground, in a secret cult where a dark god is worshiped and every other single cultist attacked one single member is left out and as soon as I heard the voice I just knew. This one has to be protected and is special, so it is going to leave after this - nah, I shot it with a sneak attack arrow... why should it get away with the same thing everyone else I killed did? Guess what happened next... In this secretive underground cultist base 4 fucking city guards literally spawned out of nowhere to accost me for murder after I literally just killed like 25 cult members on the previous room. This was probably a glitch, but it was hilariously apt.
