I'd post Depeche Mode's A Broken Frame, but someone already mentioned that pretty much all of DM's pre-Violator album art is really good, which it is. I believe A Broken Frame is in Rolling Stone's top 500 album covers book.

My personal favorite album is Priest=Aura by The Church. The cover art is perfectly representative of the music.

i've always had a particular soft spot in my heart for the album covers oingo boingo put out. you get to see different types of folk and pop-art and kind of see danny elfman's growth from quirky ska band to in-demand, ridiculously wealthy composer. anyways there's cats on an album too

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I can forgive this for being a merely 'ok' Pink Floyd album by being the single most beautiful object ever committed to 180g Vinyl. The cover is awesome but the inserts, LPs and sleeves are a work of art in their own right.
