Won't this simply branch off an alternate reality with alternate versions of absolutely everyone? If you travel to the past but don't jump into your own past body, there's now an alt-you, who shares a past with you up to your arrival, after which the timeline branches off and both of you experience the alt version from different viewpoints. You can't travel to the past again from reality 2 on the stardate of your departure to stabilize the loop, because it'd require infinite iterations with you having instantly gotten infinitely older. You can't send alt-you to the past in your place, because the you who arrived at the past lived through the snap in reality 1 and the alt-you didn't. This shit isn't ever going to collapse into a stable narrative.
Yeah, they end up causing an alternate timeline to branch off when things go haywire. There's no loop to stabilize though because the new Reality 2 is now a separate thing and they end up returning to the present in Reality 1. They aren't travelling back to prevent the snap from happening or change the timeline, they travel back to gather up the infinity stones to rebuild the gauntlet in their present day.

Can we expect massive meltdowns from a lot of people? Base on what you folks say the movie sounds good but base on a few spoilers, I imagine a lot of fanboys and Tumblr fangirls are gonna get Last Jedi'd with this film.

Let's not pretend they're a significant portion of the viewership. Every man and his dog is still going to see it, and the "problems" aren't egregious enough to make them stop watching anyway. The Russos could shit in a bucket and film it drying up for three hours, and they'll still all watch it for a possible end credits sequence.

The film underperforming is out of the box, it's just that the massive meltdowns are gonna be funny to watch.

I am really curious how big a dropoff in viewership there will be after this. This felt like a perfect movie to bow out of the MCU if you're suffering from superhero fatigue (which a huge amount of people seem to be). Are they going to panic and try shoving Galactus or something in as the next big bad ASAP?

Probably re-introduce the X-Men. Or another Deadpool flick... One that's hopefully not PG-13.

Disney has been pretty comfortable with putting dick jokes in their films since AoU so...maybe? It will be toned down without a doubt. They couldn't even show any explicit violence in Glass, so what makes anyone think they'll do it for a brand which will have the Disney logo slapped on every piece of merchandise?

Fantastic Four or X-Men most likely. I don't really care about the former, but there certainly is a large portion of people who want it to happen, and Disney will get plenty of pats on the back about how they have the Midas touch (even though mediocre shit isn't really a step up from plain shit in my book).

Latter is more likely for being popular enough to restore any numbers lost from those burnt out on regular Marvel capeshit. Once again, they'll get Midas touch props since Dark Phoenix is going to bomb horribly if early testimonies are any indication. I would suggest leaving out Logan, Magneto and Mystique for a time, give the bulk of characterisation to characters Fox neglected (Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, Jubilee, Bishop) and have Jean Grey be pre-Phoenix (and stop pretending they are one and the same; the Dark Phoenix is a separate damn god).

But you know, they're going to go full re.tard and make Storm a sassy PoC who don't need no attitude from hwyte pipo. They can make more quips that way.

If it's X-Men like in the comics, yes. Tech-savvy Kitty Pryde, funny Kurt, ugly short Wolverine, important Jean and Cyclops...Yes.

But if they follow the Bryan Singer or turn them into tumblrina wet-dream/strawmen I say get out. (Imagine MAGA-hat wearing Rogue against feminist darling Carol).

They also got away with a prison rape and masturbation joke in GOTG but even with those, they would have to fly over the kids' heads.

I'm pretty confident that Disney will continue having the Deadpool movies made as they currently are, but they'll be released under the 20th Century Fox banner and have no connection to the MCU. It will only be a matter of time before X-Men and Fantastic Four are rebooted for the MCU, but that matter of time will probably be several more years down the line.

It wouldn't be the first time. Disney used to own Dimension (ran by the Weinsteins) and Dimension released the Scream and Hellraiser sequels and other horror shit. What makes it tricky is that Deadpool is tied to the X-Men. So, what they might do is divy up certain X-Men characters to only appear in Deadpool features.

Just got back from it

Captain Bitchface was easily the worst part of that movie. Also, Rogers lifting Thor's hammer was kino as fuck.
Thor Lebowski was also pretty great.

I checked it out myself and it was decent, not quite as good as Infinity War in my opinion, Captain Marvel doesn't have that big of a role in it so that'll be a relief to those that feared she was going to solo Thanos. One of the biggest pandering moments is when all the lady heroes (Shuri, CM, SW, Michonne from the Walking Dead, etc.) all fly in for a GIRL POWER scene. I kind of was hoping to see Iron Man and Captain America do like some double heroic sacrifice so seeing Cap become an old man was kind of deflating but Iron Man going out a hero was nice and I like the little interaction he had with his dad in the past.

Captain Marvel ended up being crucial... by being Tony and Nebula's space taxi driver. I'm not sure whether I should find this fucking hilarious or not.

For all the Captain Marvel hype, fucking Ant-Man & The Wasp was the one that had a more tangible impact on the plot.

Now that Black Widow is dead, would that mean that her movie will be about her past? Pardon for being late about this.

I also have a feeling that Clint's daughter would be the Female!Hawkeye since Clint has become Ronin.

And I wonder if that scene with all the female MCU characters accompanying Captain Marvel was Brie Larson's idea.

You're assuming that Disney will stick to its own continuity when there's money to be made...
