At first glance you might look at something called the Autism Rights Movement and think, "Oh good. I want autistic people to have rights." However, this has nothing to do with the rights of the disabled, and more to do with a misguided notion that autistics don't have a problem in the first place.

Let's see. You might actually be a contributing member of society if that were to happen. I don't see anything wrong with that. You'd have less of a reason for people to make fun of you and maybe you wouldn't be as socially inept or unemployed as you are now. Wasn't the first post you made in the thread saying that you aren't defined by your autism? Well, you're not, and your hobbies and intrests would be more or less the same.

Connor my friend, I'm fairly certain if I went back in time and punched myself, the future would've changed drastically. Not having autism would affect your future the same way anything would've. For all you know, things could be better or worse.

Empirically that isn't true, because... Well, you're amply aware of the circumstances of your life. If autism was some magic ticket to creative prosperity then nobody would be trying to cure autism in the first place.

You're forgetting that we have absolutely no idea if a cure could affect someone in such a way, because a cure has not been devised yet.

So... Theorizing that anything could happen is a waste of time until results are seen.
