Ask women why they do stuff in a particular manner and possibly get a straightforward answer

Why should women have to fill in the gaps of men too lame to make a basic move? Maybe women already know they'll have to do the heavy lifting in general and don't feel they should have to do it from the jump as well. Women do not exist just to make it so men don't have to take a tiny risk.
So you're only against sexual norms when they inconvenience you? Men have already picked up on this, but it's nice to have confirmation.

It's never been a sexual norm for women to approach men. It's the man's job, and most normal men have no problem with it because they like to impress women and know they have to go for what they want. The only men who expect women to chase them are salty betas who think men being nice to women is "humiliating"; you're certainly don't want it for womens' benefit, so why should we bother?

You have reading comprehension issues? As @The Crescent King said, the "social norm" is men asking women out. Normal men living normal social lives (the ones who have dates, girlfriends, etc.) have no problem taking initiative.

but women's bodice-ripper fiction has been a thing since essentially For Ever,
Its ancient. In the epic of Gilgamesh, enkidu, the wild man, is tamed by a temple prostitute. (There’s a dual story form, the other is man losing something when tempted by woman.) As a story form, and as a human trope, it’s as old as it gets. The modern beauty and the beast format is just a modern iteration of an ancient idea.
If the biggest, nastiest member of the tribe is enchanted by you, you are safe. You can exert power through him, and so this is also a female will to power story.
This stuff is baked into us as humans. Narrative is a way we explore that level of our being.
some kind of medication that can drastically reduce sexual desire in both men and women without screwing with their hormones.
SSRIs, fat, etc.

Going to be honest, this response comes off like you cherry picked the one sort of adversarial response to that question so you could pick a fight and engage in confirmation bias. Three other people (myself included) gave replies that were very neutral in tone.
I'm probably going to get shit for this, but I'm going to just ask nicely if you could avoid coming in and derailing the thread with pointless arguments. You can choose to ignore responses you find adversarial, or not engage in the shitflinging that infects every other thread on this site.
The ladies made this thread to answer men honestly from their own experiences, some of those replies will be angry or adversarial, each person has their own experiences. Cost of enaging in open and honest discussion on a public platform.

Point of order: My reply was not aggressively adversarial - at least no more than the posited question was. The question asked why women aren't pivoting to accommodate and take up the work of men. Before answering that, it's reasonable to ask why women would or should do that. Level-setting is not adversarial.

Thank you for your answers ladies! One last and odd question, is being a woman just one trauma after the next? Maybe I’m just being autistic.
No, being a woman is awesome.

Everyone -as individuals and as groups - has stuff to confront and deal with. That doesn't change the awesomeness of life.

Adversarial in tone. I'm not saying you're wrong for having a tone of frustration or irritation, I was just pointing out he chose a reply that he could pick a fight with rather than the ones that were lacking in strong emotion one way or the other. I can see your perspective on the original question coming off as adversarial, like I said, not saying you were wrong to reply the way you did.
