My guess is she was living in a section 8 type place, with Medicaid paid home health coming in daily at least to clean and check on her. Probably hospice workers too. Those people would notify the landlord and the state/next of kin. The government has programs to help disabled and elderly live at home as long as possible.

It's also possible she was living in a small house care home, but those are harder to find for people on gibmedats. Unless her mom was paying for it, and those places are not cheap. Like $3,000/month, min.

If she was disabled, which I don't know if she went for disability, couldn't she have gone to some group home area to be taken care of? Plus the home hospice care?

I even had a friend check himself out of the hospital he was dying in, but on the ride on the way back he told me "I just want to die at home." And he literally died the next day. (He was in a long and brutal fight with lung cancer and then fell and broke a hip and that set off the final cascade of complications that finished him.)

Yep, it happened to my mom, too. Same story and ending. She was in a hospital and said the same thing as your friend, and she died at home weeks later, under hospice care. It does happen.

Fwiw someone on her Instagram claimed she was dead also (maybe the same person as the ed forums person maybe not), and that girl is one of the few on Ashley's follow list and seems to have known her irl.

Can our inside jokes be pretty fucking ruthless? Also yes.

I'm a fairly passive user despite my account being 7 years old (mostly tend to lurk). But in all my time here, I have not once come across a thread about someone whose (significant) online presence didn’t merit the notoriety in some way, shape, or form.

Ashley spent almost her entire life manipulating people to get whatever the fuck she wanted. Hell, the manifestation of her ED itself descended from pure unadulterated spite after her mom (rightfully) tried to discipline Ashley for sharing nude selfies to creeps online. Like a damn child who holds their breath when they get into trouble. I won’t pretend as if her mom was completely innocent throughout it all, but…part of me understands. Even the gifts and letters Ashley so famously sent to others were most likely only given with cached self-interest. Bartering tools for getting more out of them in the future.

And I hate this idea that being able to recognize that makes us “bad”. I hate the idea that people shouldn’t be shown a mirror and held accountable for their actions.

I know Ashley was incredibly mentally ill, but so are very, very many people, and yet they still manage to be kind and contribute good things to the world. Genuine people don’t need to write DNI IF YOU ARE GOING TO BULLY ME OR SPREAD HATE. I AM BATTLING MENTAL ILLNESSES at the bottom of every post. Her entire online presence was (arguably) one giant body check/intentional trigger for everyone who was/is a part of ‘that’ community.

Calling people (who choose to put their lives/thoughts/opinions out there on very public platforms, mind you) out on their shit is not why the world is such a dark and shitty place. Coddling people, forever enabling them and “loving” them until their literal demise, on the other hand..

But I digress.

TL;DR-
Ashley Isaacs was not a good person. But it says a lot that, in spite of knowing this, we here can still sympathize with the utter humanity of it all and wish her a peaceful rest.

Oh also: it’s so fucking rich that that user defines our engagement here as “actively worsening the world/making people’s lives worse” while chilling on a literal ED support forum. She claims she’s only harming herself “or trying to”, but fuck anyone in her life who actually cares about her, I guess. Very Ashley-coded.

All Anas are like this, they are perpetual innocent victims. It's because their brains aren't developing properly due to the lack of food and they still act very childish because they never truly grew up.

It's not a coincidence that the Anorexics of today are just troons. They also like to dress up and larp as tiny cute little girls.

Also, was Ash harassed by anyone from this thread? I don't know all the lore here, it's 264 pages, but around these parts people don't take kindly to neghole pozzing. Or is just discussing it amongst ourselves harassment? She clearly wanted attention, and got it.

I highly doubt, there was nothing really interesting about Ashley aside from the fact that she weighed 50 lbs and was alive for that long. This is not a pro ana website for people to obsess over Ashley, which is why in 10 years of this being created there's less than 300 pages here.
The pro-ana people are the ones that look up to Ashleey Isaacs and Eugenia Cooney. Most of them have NEVER reached a weight close to theirs, they want to be perceived as anorexic because it gives them victim status without being a victim (you know Shaniqua isn't going to those sites, they are mostly white girls with functional families - a reason why most of them can't reach their goal weight), they label themselves as a "support group" but all of them are trying to encourage each other to become anorexic.
I remember the old "MyProAna" forum, they started as a pro-anorexia website and tried to rebrand as a support group as well, but most of them were still asking: "hmm, if i eat only a grape per day, can i lose 50 pounds in 1 week?" and people would actually respond giving them advice.

What's sad is that most of them are young girls that choose to obsess over their weight instead of just doing something with their life. I remember back in the Tumblr days it was mostly girls under 20 that were into the thinspo shit.
Honestly? Go to college, get a degree, get a job, stop hanging out with people who are actively trying to harm you by telling you not to eat food.

There's the problem. She might've read this thread, or at least lurked the recent comments, as the rest of that is close enough to reality to be chalked up to differences in opinion. Everything except for the part where "kf users are all awful cyber bullies".

Should she happen to read this: consider for a second whether anyone has come into your spaces from here. And then rat them out because that's the one time we do actually bully people...our own users.
