Remember the TV Channel G4, and How it Bombed so Miserably after 2009?

I Still remember G4, we had it on DirecTV Back in '08, and to be completely honest, i'd pretty much watch it Non-Stop back then whenever i could.

I do. It was great back in the day. Then 2009 hit, and everything went to hell. It used to be one of the best channels on TV. I also remember when it was "Tech", which was a little before that.

Never did understand why they basically shot their own channel in the back of the head.

From what i think i Heard when Kevin Pereria Intervewed Adam Sessler on The Attack, they did it to "Entice an Adult Male Audience"

Yes. I knew about it as far back as 2005, didn't get until 2006 or 2007. Liked it for awhile but around 2009-2010 I dropped it.

Cinematech was my shit, and I miss the anime blocks

This is a great retrospective on G4.

Hindsight is 20/20 of course, but it still cracks me up that the G4 Exec didn’t think people would be interested in watching games simply being played.

It wasn't in my basic cable package, so u unlike a lot of people I have zero nostalgia for it. I see it as the genesis of pandery "geek culture" crap.

But the article title made me think of Robert Plant ad-libbing, "Does anybody remember laughter?" during live performances of Stairway, which is worth a chuckle.

I think we had this from its earliest incarnation. Remember also watching G4 at a friends house.

Portal was always my favorite. I think the host was one of the few passionate guys they got. Cinemetech was good for upcoming trailers.

Icons was awesome when it was about game icons.

Judgment Day was aight. Victor is cool but Tommy is irritating. Stick to music, man.

Cheat always sucked because if it wasn't hosted by an obvious crackhead, it was hosted by a piece of meat.

Arena was just lame, not just because of Wil or anything, but because it just felt lame (honestly like most of G4s shows). If I remember right, the producers were slime on it.

X-Play of course was the best addition to the channel, at least until the set change with the crystal balls and shit. Liked their stupid skits. Too bad Adam Sessler turned out to be a fraud.

I just remember the slow downhill nightmare this channel became with non-gaming shows and obnoxious adverts like this was Spike TVs little brother.

Its funny, when this was actually on the air all of the old TechTV fans hated it after the merger. I was okay with it though, despite some of the problems being true (Icons having incorrect information, etc.)

It was all right. I did watch X-Play, Attack of the Show and Icons.

Judgment Day was okay, too. But Tommy was a shitty reviewer.
