My idea is that they are not literally men, but serve as a representation of the power men have over women as a social entity.
We’ll have to wait and see if my allegorical nonsense holds water, this series could either evolve into pure kino or turn into total dogshit but I really feel there’s some deeper themes brewing up.
I'm probably the only one here who kept up with Drama Queen.
The answer is it turned to total dogshit, many such cases.
I've rarely seen a manga introduce so many plot points just for literally fucking nothing to happen, there's always some new shit going on and then it just doesn't matter and nothing comes of it. And what makes it worse is that it could have been a certified banger if it ran with it's original "racist serial killers" idea and explored our main characters through that but no, it has to be one stupid plot pivot after the other and we're just spinning in circles at this point flicking our lips going BIBBLEBIBBLEBIBBLEBIBBLE.

I'm still reading it and yeah it's pretty generic now. Lots of little things happening, but they're trivial mystery boxes at best. Maybe it's salvageable if there's about to be a series of reveals that actually go somewhere, but I doubt it since the protagonist is now a little bitch and his watered-down stand-in I don't care about. Hungry girl is still a pure being but she's having lesbian dates off-screen almost all the time now.

Taco Bell Mild Sauce Take:

Death Note in hindsight kinda blows. And that's before L's death. It's just constant internal monologues of people proclaiming how smart they are and ass pulls.

"Ah yes, but you didn't even consider to think I'd sucked my own dick already!"

Cut to a red and blue palate shift and the dununununun theme playing as they stare at each other
It's a power of friendship story for people who think they're too cool for power of friendship stories. Watching Light spiral downwards was too fun to watch for me to ever call it bad, though.

Imagine you’re Ryuk. You’re bored as shit, so you chuck a book into the human realm and it’s picked up by the biggest sperg to ever live. And after that, you watch said sperg get into shenanigans with the biggest autist to ever live, and everything ends with almost literal autistic screeching.
Ryuk must have been having a blast.

That's why it's so much fun to me, it's just so over the top and absurd.
Not even to mention the sheer amount of memes, it's a cultural touchstone for my generation we all love how ridiculous it is.

I was goimg through a rough time in the early 2000s and Deathnote and a lot of other anime that aired late at night on Cartoon Network helped take my mind off of all my problems.

I loved them for their cheese factor and they were something myself and others bonded over, something people who didn't watch Cartoon Network at midnight didn't understand. They gave us oir own little culture and I will always love them for that.

And then later Ryuk one ups himself by getting Donald Trump to gain the Death Note in a way so incredibly autistic that your boss changes the rules to prevent it from ever happening again.

Honestly, Death Note was peak because it just reveled in how batshit and over the top it was. It’s just iconic, from the music to the fan subs to the memes that it spawned it was just a blast.
Light got a goth baddie and didn’t give a shit, this man was such a sperg that a literal goth idol thirsting after him like crazy couldn’t stop him from fighting another retard.

That's why he is the best character in Death Note.

I'm hitting the final third of Oniisama e... and while I'm enjoying my stories (as I call it), I'm still waiting for something fucked up to happen. Without going into detail, does Fukiko spiral further from here-on or someone else? I need my psychotic girls to do something nuts by the end.
Oh it gets wild. Also yes. Expect it more in a melodrama psychological sense though. Shit hits the fan for them all though.

It's not even like he was outdoors doing kung fu. Just open your trapper keeper on her back and multitask bro.

I'm not exaggerating when I say Bocchi the Rock is Anime of the year. It knows how to use its medium to show character and there's no reason a show needed to go this hard
Lmao, did people really think that Bocchi was good? It was just a shitty flavour of the season anime.

Bocchi was fantastic, it had very creative use of gags including changing art styles.
And really straddled the line of being dark without being depressing/mean spirited
A flavour of the season is way safer and disappears a lot quicker.

The only show I can compare to is Asobi Asobase that was darker and more exaggerated.
