Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

I guess my problem is this: Imagine you just found out your wife and daughter have been a lie and completely fake, your child, your pride and joy, all of it have been lies. Worse yet, these memories cannot be removed and your emotional attachment to these fictional people is still there and probably will always be. How do you come to terms with this? How do you even go on after something so important has not just been stripped away, but never been there to begin with?

Well apparently you just get back to work the next day after a single crying session and go "well hey, guess i dont gotta deal with divorce anymore lmao"
Have you ever been through a divorce?
I have, there are times that would have been preferable.

Was he paying alimony? If so does he get to stop paying it or get the money back?

Did this divorce include children? Because that's my holdup, would you really want your children to have been fabrications? I understand MAYBE wanting your divorcee wife be fake, but your own flesh and blood?

Yeah, it did.
There were moments that it felt like I wish it had just been a bad dream that I could wake up from.
It all worked out for me in the end.
Everyone processes grief and loss differently.

Finally managed to sit down for episode three of Sayonara Lara. It is very gay and dumb, much like our main leads. Big focus on Mari and her autistic obsession with boxing. The animation for the first sparring scene was quite good. Kinema Cirtus really seems to be pouring their efforts into this one. Though the giant fish dagger emerging from the lake is a bad sign. Can't wait to get all up in my feels for when dumb drama happens

Well yeah, but I assume this "waking up" would be you waking up with your wife who wouldn't have divorced you and being happy with your child, no? Or at least you'd wake up with your child, right? Like I find it hard to imagine someone wanting to erase their living, breathing child because they are in a difficult life situation

Well, sure they do. But I think this kind of bomb being dropped on most people would lead to a significant amount of psychological trauma that they wouldn't just get over the very next day. At the very least I think that what their future actions are going to be should be left up to the viewer's imagination, which is what the Oshii film did. I think it's more effective that way.

So Japanese Twitter is shitting all over Gigguk right now Link

cool story if true
last i heard that entire retarded podcast was being shit on by the japs for them behaving like manchildren in Japan

gigguk's schtick was up nearly two decades ago
and the rest of that crowd never really took off or lasted as much in comparison
God you're right. The only one I remember was Glass Reflection and he's still doing his gay British Army redcoat thing to this day.

Reminder that in Jap culture, mental health issues are seen as a weakness and something that shouldn't be flaunted in public. Maybe that outcome was related to that.
The manga is in any case kinda like that, although the scene with the robots deciding that exterminating humanity was too much effort was slightly exaggerated for the anime. If the story is 1:1 with the OG work, then it will have a similar ending to the first movie of the 90s. Too bad the art looks odd at times, not as detailed as that movie, but I guess that's impossible these days.

"Thank God the cancer took away a brilliant mind before he got too old and out of touch." Bro wtf is this statement.
When you say it like this it sounds a bit harsh.

But there isn't a shortage of beloved artists tarnishing their reputation by either being too political and/or creating vastly inferior media that makes you wonder if they were ever that good or just lucky or had the right tard wranglers.

He's correct though, most people like to think back about highschool as the time life was more simple with less responsibility, innocence, care about money and more free time. Most don't obsess about it, and probably a lot think about it as having a lot of missed possibilities. Compare with being in college where there is less of free time or social aspect. And work where you are a slave to a corpo.

sensible
That's what everyone should be doing at all times. No clue how he and his faggy friends managed to become so popular. Add in Abroad in Japan and you have the four Horseman of Japan Bullshit.
who the fuck else is there?
chibi the pedo midget?

The main issue is that at least from what I saw in his earlier videos Abroad in Japan was actually a very useful and informative channel to get info on what it's like there. Like something you'd watch before planning a vacation. Now it's just the bog standard "Woah Japan so clazy! So wacky uuuuuoooooo!" where the entire nation is made to seem like some sort of party town and playground. People forget the mountain towns and rice farmers who you could probably have a great beer with.
