💤 Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

Today I learned it's pacifism when you cheer for someone you dislike nearly getting attacked.
On a sidenote, Jeffrey Grimes, whoever that is, is doing a piss poor job. Terri Euterpe is far more on mark, I'd say.
This is what I love about watching Dobby flail around for attention: there's always someone around who's all too familiar w/ Dobby's schtick and tells it like it is. Then Dobson, being the lily-livered pansy he is, crawls back into his little pit of self-loathing w/o single word of response and a silent block. How pathetic.

Also if it had been Clinton who was nearly attacked he (and every other person on Twitter) would be decrying the horrors of our society and how this happened because of the evil fascist trump.

Yeah. You know those golden bracelets on her arms? They lock together when her energy runs low hence why Diana is always seen tied up or captured until she can recharge or something like that.

Comic nerd here. In the Golden Age of comics, the pre-Crisis iteration of Diana wore bracelets as reminder from the gods of the bondage that the Amazons were forced into when Hercules enslaved her mother Hippolyta. Taking them off would make her stronger, but it would also make her go berserk.

Post-Crisis, the bracelets were made from Athena's shield, making them impervious to damage.

The post-Nu52 version uses them to keep her power in check again, and can also manifest blades from them.

The main inspiration for the bracelets is from the woman that WW creator William Marston was in a menage a trois in with his wife. She wore bracelets as part of their bondage kink, which is why Wonder Woman had a lasso, and usually got tied up a lot in the Golden Age. Ironically, he also invented the lie detector, and Diana's lasso was the ultimate lie detector.

I dont know how anyone could be complacent with reading a shit story just because you agree with the views written. How boring must that be? Only consuming entertainment because you agree with its message no matter how shitty it may be.
It's Dobson, he'll find a way regardless of how much sense it lacks.

I'd ask if Dobson knows this, but odds are he either does, and doesn't care because "Wonder Woman promotes Feminism". Or is completely obvious to it because he's not a real comics fan.

But if he didn't, and someone told him this, would he chimp out and declare WW sexist?

Dobson knows absolutely nothing about any superhero apart from what was featured in the cartoons based on them. Despite being a comic artist who's prized work is an episodic story comic, Dobson doesn't really give much of a shit about comic books and instead got his love of comics from the lame cartoons on the funny pages.

I'm not entirely sure he even reads those.

There's always one phrase I want to say to every man who subscribes to this "men are useless" theory:

"You first."

A man like that would likely argue that if he were to go first then he could no longer serve his noble role as a guardian angel for those lovely, fragile women.

Unless it was Dobson, I'd be willing to wager that he wouldn't argue. He'd rather block you and then show it off as some kind of accomplishment to his beloved wimmins, much to their dismay.

Says the man the WHOLE WORLD left behind.
You think that but in truth, Dobson is the man who sold the world.

Wasn't Wonder Woman also her creator's outlet for his bondage fetish or something?

Bondage, domination, mind control to a certain extent.

Wonder Woman was basically 99% fetish stuff. Now much ballyhoo is made of her as a Feminist Icon... and she's still like at least 50% fetish stuff. So hey, relevant to how Dobson writes his characters.

Yes, as well as his belief that society would become more female dominated in the near future. The original goal of Wonder Woman was to create a hero that represented that vision of the future for young girls. Instead of being violent, she would be all about compassion.

Admittedly the whole concept of being "all about compassion" but also being the bestest warrior who exemplifies a warrior culture is kind of fucking stupid, as Avatar so ably proved. You can be a warrior with compassion, but at some point you're going to have to shank a fucker, so maybe don't pat yourself on the back for being such a righteous and kind soul after you do. (Besides, Wonder Woman even in her earliest days did all kinds of sociopathic shit, like most superheroes, just because there was no nuance to the writing. "Oh, I want a cake for my birthday party, I'm gonna go steal a harpy's egg. Who cares if harpies are sentient creature and the mother is screaming at me about stealing her babies.")

If I was to ever make my own cartoon, it would be about golden age shenanigans like that. Try to paint the protagonists as paragons while their actions made them come off like assholes. Super dickery at it's finest.

And it would still be more likely to attract a crowd than Alex Ze Pirate.

I'd totally watch that, and then see the reaction on the people like Dobson once they watch it.

Shit will be flung.

Goddamnit, Dobbles, it's called an identifying feature. Mary-Jane Watson is a redhead. If you're describing her character design, hair and eye colour are going to be two of the biggest things, next to skin tone and build.

Especially because she's pretty much the archetype of the fiery redhead. Blonde Gwen was virginal and beautiful and pure and redhead MJ is more energetic and into partying and relaxed.

I feel like we could have an entire thread dedicated to making fun of Dobbo for being triggered by minecraft. Minecraft. Really. I actually didn't know it was possible to be such a colossal pansy. Minecraft is a game 10 year old girls get to dominate in, and Andrew Dobson couldn't hack spawning in an unfamiliar terrain.

I'd pay real actual money for a recording of what Dobson does if his power goes out, because this guy must just completely fall apart.
