Yes it also spawned a bad cartoon too. I used to watch it as I had breakfast waiting for the bus.
Had quite the voice cast. Even as a kid I was aware the quality was low, and I'm not saying that as I was some child prodigy of cartoon review, it was pretty commonly known.

I'm not sure what it is about Dobson crossovers that rub me the wrong way given that I generally don't mind crossover/cosplays.
Maybe it's down to the fact that with most of them it's just "here's this silly thing I did" while with Dobson you can tell he thinks it's hot shit. Maybe it's down to the fact that the crossovers are so shallow. Like that Mighty Mad Max, it's literally just talking names and mashing them together ala Sonichu. Most of the crossoverplays I like tend to be ones that actually draw a humourous comparison between the subjects the two like, I dunno, two friendly enemies dressed like Kirby and King Dedede?
They're not brilliant but they actually have the slightest smidge of substance to it beyond the bloody series names.

Mighty Max is mostly remembered these days for being one of the most blatantly 90s toy franchises ever conceived, right behind Street Sharks. It contained every single 90s action cartoon cliche you could think of, right down to the Sonic Sayz-esque educational segments at the end.
Come to think of it, a more creative man than Dobson would have been able to do something clever with the concept of crossing that over with the movie that basically ushered in the 80s. But alas, Dobson is not a creative man.

That's basically it. It's totally superficial. His point is simply "hey, this name sounds very slightly like that name".

Everything is tropey. What started out as labeling and pointing out cliches has turned into creating tropes and cliches to label everything with.

Cross overs are serious fucking business, yo. It doesn't matter if they are original, they have to have the widest possible appeal to compensate for its own mediocrity; that is if you ask Dobson what his market strategy is.

Pretty sure this is illegal.
Hell a quick peak at society6,s terms and conditions seems to point out you cant sell your designs if they infringe on othets intellectually property.

Prefacing this with the whole "I'm only a person who has interest in the legal system, not actually a trained lawyer, grain of salt yadda yadda".
Essentially it's always a case of "Will they bother". Many companies turn a blind eye when they can, the whole "if they don't enforce it they lose the rights" thing being a horribly pervasive urban myth (it specifically only applies to trademarks), so in most cases it falls under companies to make a judgement call. Some companies take a relaxed approach, others are a schizophrenic grabbag (Games Workshop and it's view on game mods with their IPs being a prime example), and others, like Disney, will stomp on literally anything that dares to so much as draw some circles that resemble Micky. Of course if the company in question already markets these kinds of products, the chances of action go drastically up, as the infringer is actively taking a chunk of their sales now.
So it comes down to, what kind of company is Dobby pissing off.
EDIT: Of course, Society6 has it's own rights in going above and beyond the law to shut down this sorta thing, so even a tenous at best C&D, or even user reports of violation, would likely be enforced. Same reason why Youtube and Twitch will sometimes catch background music as infringing. It's far less disasterous to piss off the occasional user than million dollar companies with legal teams out for blood.

I think earlier in the thread someone brought up that you can only sell original works on society6? He has several designs up with copywrited content and it would be a shame if he got into trouble for that.

Like @Strelok said its just not really in the interests big companys to waste time on this.
However Dobson is illegally using scrooge mcduck in his attack on titan designs.....and disneys has gone after Day care centres for unlicensed Disney murals. Wont ever happen but Dobson vs Mickey would be sweet.
