Because he's incredibly lazy. Those are his patreon drawings. That is the level you can expect when you pay him money. As you can imagine, Disney and Cartoon Network are in a bidding war to hire him.
No matter how much money you throw at him (or none), he'll always make it shitty regardless, period.

Why would he even like Iron Man? He's a rich sexist womanizing shitlord!

I dunno, maybe it's because he really likes Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of him?

The pic itself had some neat ideas, although Ironman/Gizmoduck honestly was a far funnier one since they actually have some things in common (both are actual superheroes for one). Then you see the effort and skill Dobbo placed into it. The missing finger is just the worst one you can notice. Ironman's armor is completely off base, with the facial plate being particularly off; like it looks too small for the suit. Plus his last two fingers look like he got them ripped off by the Hulk after he made a pass at Black Widow, or alternatively she had enough and did it herself. Gizmoduck doesn't even remotely look like he did in the show:

Notice how topheavy and thickset he is? Dobbo drew him like half the size. He should've probably aimed for Hulk proportions honestly if he wanted to make the character look closer.

As an aside, I'm pretty sure he intentionally is contrarian at least some of the time: I knew a guy like that who intentionally picked things a lot of people hate and defend them on purpose. Mainly to get a rise and also because he hated mainstream stuff, because it was somehow bad.

I've not read the books but I looked it up and apparently it was more consensual there

Never happened to the character it happened to in the show. They actually changed the plot a fair bit to make it possible to happen.

There is a marital rape that happens to a different character (Jayne, I think was her name) but the circumstances are also a bit different.

Can someone look up the cover art for Bully Scholarship Edition and see if that was traced?

The pose is very similar but I don't think it was raced. All in all Dobson could have gotten a lot more creative with this one.

Off the top of my head: Beast from the X-Men is some type of scholar, right? I remember seeing him with glasses and being depicted as intelligent. Dobby could have done a drawing of Beast and Bell being nerdy together (since Bell loves to read in the Disney version) while the Beast looks on jealously or something. That at least would be in character.

They had to tone Ramsay way down from the books. The shit he gets up to there is totally unfilmable. Comparing the two breaks down especially hard in his case because okay, he's not peeling the skin off Theon's junk like a banana but we also didn't fucking watch it happen in the books because those are words on a page and not actors.

Is it just me or is Gizmoduck's head disproportionately enormous?
It's also at a really weird angle and positioning when you look at the neck...

That being said, the images aren't that good. I mean, really, the idea behind them is kind of okay, but the execution is just really subpar. If this was done by some hobby-artist or comic enthusiast it would be ok, but this guy went to art school and pretends to be some sort of art prodigy.
You don't even have to nitpick, Ironman is just complete fail and Beast looks very off-model.
And his loyal fans will have to wait till July to see these awesome pieces of hard work :heart-empty:

But speaking of which: Holding your own art hostage to motivate/pressure people into supporting you on Patreon? Smooth. Instead of doing the unthinkable and supplying general art for everyone and doing some extra content for Patreon supporters that he can release later on, he just does the most lazy option and withholds art from his general fans. Dobson has it completely backwards: he seems to assume fans who don't shell out money for him aren't worth his attention while in reality, he has to build a strong fanbase (which - for him- would have been easy in the past!) and build up a reputation and a "market value" (soe to speak), and from there on out, he could have started going for Patreon support. The way he actually did it is bound to dissappoint regular (non-paying) fans and actually decreases his already tiny value.

I find it incredibly funny looking back at all of those comics he did about how much of a clueless jerk his art teacher was supposed to be, and how Dobby refused to listen to his advice because "fuk u teech people should draw how they want". Maybe if he had actually paid attention to the things he taught, his art might be half decent.

Dobson can't be creative or detailed with his drawings though. That takes away time from bitching on Twitter and playing video games.

I honestly can't tell what's worse.
The odd number of fingers, Iron Man looking like a sloppy cosplayer who made his armor out of cardboard boxes with the eyes drawn in with markers, the weetabix fingers with incorrect lengths, or maybe it's the fact that HE'S AN ARTIST WHO WENT TO ART SCHOOL FOR YEARS AND SHOULDN'T BE MAKING AMATEUR MISTAKES LIKE THIS.

Well some smaller details can be overlooked a little due to how we see it. It's way harder than it looks (and usually way harder than it's worth) to get everything the absolute precise length, most will be alright with "generally correct" There's lots of even good art that might look a bit funny if stared at long enough.

Now the number of fingers on that hand is another matter and honestly. Yes sometimes fingers look like there's few because at some angles they can get obscured. An arm hanging limp to the side might looks a bit like a pincer. However, none of the hand angles in said piuc would remotely obscure any fingers and it says a lot about someone who won't even correct that. Some possibilities:
- He was too unobservant/stupid to notice one of the most glaring errors ever
- He noticed but was too lazy to just scribble over it to add that missing finger/remove excess finger (whichever one applies)
- He noticed but decided everyone but him is too stupid to catch on to such a huge goddamn error.
Most likely all of the above somehow. Even an amateur probably wouldn't have done that.

And here I almost complimented how the hands were drawn till I easily noticed that missing finger. Oops.
