I love how Dobson thinks that gender politics in video games, comics, and cartoons are the most important things in the world.

Double irony for the disturbing inflating women he drew and his insulting lesbian character from AzP.

Truly, he is a paragon for feminism & LGBT rights!

I do wonder- why IS he so salty about genuine constructive criticism, aside from his inflated ego?

Woah woah woah. So he says he can take care of himself but still has a paetron, which makes him depend on other people for money sans his SSI?

I wonder if some of his donators are just people who want to see him produce more crap for the lolz.

He has over 50,000 DA watchers, correct? Not even 100+ will give him a buck each!

Sorry if off-topic:
At least Patreon/DA artists like Tracy Butler (Lackadaisy) and sakimichan put real effort into their work, they enjoy what they draw, and they are not rude or condescending to their fans. And their art is excellent.

To me, the biggest issue is Dobson being a total asshat to literally everyone who isn't a popular SJW. It's like he's actively trying to drive away his fans.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I found Dobson's sort-of explanation of why he has an irrational hatred of anime. I was browsing around trying to find out about his Formera comic and I found his posts on this forum thread http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=213313
Someone earlier in our thread had brought the story up, but here it is:

What I really notice is that he says it's hard to change his style after 15 years. Hell, my style isn't the same as 5 years ago. That's stagnation for ya.
Jesus, not only was he butthurt over his favorite movie getting MST3K'd but he's also butthurt that knowing what anime is stopped making him a unique special snowflake.

Draw crappy art ---> Remaining fans and white knights desperately walking on eggshells while attempting to convey the least bit of constructive criticism ---> Dobson gets mad and is ignorant, anyway ---> SJW rants and "WOE IS ME!!!11!" sob stories on Twitter

At this rate, EVERYONE'S gonna just leave him at some point, eventually leaving him to suffer in his own neverending circlejerk cycle.

Última edición:
Anime was hardly underground by the time Dobby was in HS/College. He talks about having go out to the middle of no where to mom and pop stores to find it, but you could go to literally any major video chain and get anime, especially the ones he was watching.
And God, the butthurt. The butthurt. They made fun of my anime! Now anime is dead to me forever!

And none of the people he's sucking up to appear to give a rat's ass about him. Ha, ha, Dobby!

Is he really on SSI? For what? It's really hard to get it for depression (though I suppose his dad being an accident reconstruction expert might mean contacts with high-powered lawyers).

And did anyone ever solve the mystery of whether he's actually still in Minnesota, or living with his folks in Massachusetts?

When Dobs was in high school, there were several anime stores a subway ride away. This one he could have gotten to without even changing trains.

I'm starting to think Dobby Bear must be one of Bob Chandler's many children he conceived during his life time, yet was never aware of!

Chris's art still has that craptacular Crayola style to it and reference images do nothing for him! If he actually could be bothered to use at least MS paint and take his time with his art, it wouldn't be as infamously bad!

Dobby Bear's art still has that decent, but forgettable look it to which is infuriating as Dobby can draw several levels above what he usually cranks out. (In other words, he's actually good at his craft, but he's sooooo lazy when it comes to applying himself!)

Anyone else seeing a connection between these two?

How old was he when he graduated? I could probably understand having difficulty getting fansubs, which I heard was a byzantine process in the VHS days.

By the way, remember the whole "butthurt about Christmas" incident? It's much worse than I remembered.

That's Dobson for you. Even in real life situations he goes out of his way to find things to be offended and butthurt over and makes a fool of himself in the process.

He chimps out if you post that Disney animation guide, so I doubt even someone he respects could help him. He rides Wu's cock so hard that he would never turn down senpai's advice, but he'd never actually follow it.

So he stopped liking anime partly because of people ripping on the stuff he liked and partly because it got really popular?
I've known people to do that, but they were all losers who couldn't get over high school.
Christ, Preston, you were a sad cunt even before you got famous online for being a sad cunt.
