I wonder if some of his donators are just people who want to see him produce more crap for the lolz.

To me, the biggest issue is Dobson being a total asshat to literally everyone who isn't a popular SJW. It's like he's actively trying to drive away his fans.He has over 50,000 DA watchers, correct? Not even 100+ will give him a buck each!
Sorry if off-topic:
At least Patreon/DA artists like Tracy Butler (Lackadaisy) and sakimichan put real effort into their work, they enjoy what they draw, and they are not rude or condescending to their fans. And their art is excellent.

Or it could just be help?...
Dobsons such a twat.
Jesus, not only was he butthurt over his favorite movie getting MST3K'd but he's also butthurt that knowing what anime is stopped making him a unique special snowflake.Sorry if this has already been posted, but I found Dobson's sort-of explanation of why he has an irrational hatred of anime. I was browsing around trying to find out about his Formera comic and I found his posts on this forum thread http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=213313
Someone earlier in our thread had brought the story up, but here it is:
What I really notice is that he says it's hard to change his style after 15 years. Hell, my style isn't the same as 5 years ago. That's stagnation for ya.
Draw crappy art ---> Remaining fans and white knights desperately walking on eggshells while attempting to convey the least bit of constructive criticism ---> Dobson gets mad and is ignorant, anyway ---> SJW rants and "WOE IS ME!!!11!" sob stories on TwitterTo me, the biggest issue is Dobson being a total asshat to literally everyone who isn't a popular SJW. It's like he's actively trying to drive away his fans.

And none of the people he's sucking up to appear to give a rat's ass about him. Ha, ha, Dobby! To me, the biggest issue is Dobson being a total asshat to literally everyone who isn't a popular SJW. It's like he's actively trying to drive away his fans.
Anime was hardly underground by the time Dobby was in HS/College. He talks about having go out to the middle of no where to mom and pop stores to find it

I think most of them are too young to have a credit card or they're just as broke as he is. The ones that aren't trolls at least. He has over 50,000 DA watchers, correct? Not even 100+ will give him a buck each!![]()
How old was he when he graduated? I could probably understand having difficulty getting fansubs, which I heard was a byzantine process in the VHS days.Anime was hardly underground by the time Dobby was in HS/College. He talks about having go out to the middle of no where to mom and pop stores to find it, but you could go to literally any major video chain and get anime, especially the ones he was watching.
And God, the butthurt. The butthurt. They made fun of my anime! Now anime is dead to me forever!
In a way he's already following in her footsteps. It just isn't working for him because he's a cis-het white guy who never bothered to do any networking to get the right media connections.I bet if Wu gave him advice on how to live his life, Dobson would follow it like the fucking bible.
